Make an adventure out of your next trip in Summerville and go for a cruise down the Ashley River, leaving from Herbert Jessen Landing. From here, you can ride downriver to sightsee and pass by all the historic plantations along Highway 61, such as Middleton and Magnolia.
Once at the plantations, we can turn around or head all the way out to Charleston Harbor for lunch at several spots at the City Marina or across the harbor at California Dreaming, and then head back upriver.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Redfish, Catfish, and more, depending on the time of year.
You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Tributary Charters is a child-friendly charter service, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. George will bring you aboard a 24' pontoon with room for 9 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
So, whether you are looking to just sightsee, fish, or booze cruise with a big friend group, we have you covered!
