Rodbender Fishing Charters
Join Captain Scott for a great day of fishing with Rodbender Fishing Charters. They specialize in providing professional bay fishing charters in the beautiful waters of Sarasota, Florida.
His 22' Century boat can comfortably fit 4 anglers at once, without you crossing rods. With its 115 HP engine, great captain, and navigational equipment you will be on the fish in no time.
You can expect to fish a multitude of species, including, but not limited to, Barracuda, Cobia, Redfish, Kingfish, Permit, Snapper, and Seatrout. All of these great species, and you won't even be too far from shore. That makes these trips great for people of all experience levels.
Children are especially welcome aboard. Capt. Scott loves to see the kids hook their first fish, their excitement is so contagious! He will happily educate the younger generation on how to fish and the importance of looking after the ecosystem by catching and releasing fish wherever possible.
Of course, Capt. Scott will make sure you have plenty for dinner, and will fillet the fish for you, so they are ready to go. However, any and all fish that you decide not to eat will be released. This way, the rivers of Sarasota stay plentiful year after year, for your continued enjoyment.
Capt. Scott will provide all rods and reels, lures, and live bait, which he will prepare in advance of your trip. This will allow you more time to fish and go after you desired catch. Fishing license is also included. It is recommended that you bring plenty of water and any snacks you fancy.
So all that is left to do is book, grab your snacks, and join Captain Scott for a great fishing trip!

I’ve chartered many boats over the years, and this was the best experience I’ve ever had. Catching fish is great, but hanging out with Captain Scott is worth the price of admission. Which by the way, his rates are probably the most cost-friendly admission fees in the state! Scott’s communication prior to the trip was great. His directions to the landing are very easy to follow. He wants you to catch fish. And that we did. PLENTY! But even if we had only caught one, the experience would’ve still been a 10/10. If you lose your bait, he’s got the other one ready before you even reel up. If you hook something big, he’s got the net ready the second he hears the drag. And if you have an actual sense of humor, he’s got the jokes and stories locked & loaded! I want to come back to FL just to get on his boat again! Don’t even bother looking at the other charters.
My husband and I booked a fishing charter with Captain Scott Green as part of our wedding anniversary trip, and fishing with Captain Scott and First Mate Steve was the highlight of our entire vacation. This was my very first saltwater fishing experience, while my husband, Jesse, is a highly experienced angler. Returning to the Florida Gulf felt like coming home for him, and Captain Scott and Steve did an exceptional job creating an experience that was enjoyable for both of us despite our very different skill levels. As a beginner, I received patient instruction, encouragement, and guidance throughout the trip. At the same time, my husband was able to fish freely and enjoy being on fish the entire time. Between the two of us, we caught more than a dozen fish during our four-hour charter (not all keepers but so much fun!), and there was never a dull moment. By the end of the trip, we were so tired from actively fishing that we asked to take a break. Rather than simply ending the trip early, Captain Scott took us on a scenic tour of the area so we could enjoy the remainder of our time on the water. It was such a thoughtful gesture that topped off an already amazing trip. Afterward, Captain Scott cleaned our fish and recommended a local restaurant that prepared our catch for dinner. It was the perfect ending to an incredible day. We were also delighted to discover that Captain Scott is a fellow Midwesterner, which made the experience feel even more personal. He and First Mate Steve were both very kind and hilariously funny. Captain Scott is professional, hardworking, and genuinely committed to making sure his guests have a great time. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or trying saltwater fishing for the very first time, you'll be in excellent hands. We came home with a ton of fish, wonderful memories, and sore arms from reeling them in. Of everything we did during our anniversary trip, our day on the water with Captain Scott and Steve is the memory we'll treasure most. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
Best experience ever! Scott was a great captain. I would love book the exact same trip every time in I’m Siesta Key. There were 4 of us for 4 hours. My son-in-law and twin 11yo daughters. One daughter is slightly disabled and Scott made sure she was taken care of the entire time. We were so impressed that there was no down time without bait. We limited out on trout, caught 3 sharks, and a bluefish. We caught more than we could keep track of. Scott was very personable and appropriate.
Had a great morning out on the water with Captian Scott! Caught and released over 40 fish mostly Lady Fish, Mackeral and large trout. He put us right on the fish and we didnt move all morning. Spent the time bonding over fishing in other states, and sharing stories of other hunting and fishing adventures while catching! Would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to get out and throw a few lines!

Captain Scott was very accomidating on this unusually cool and windy day, he came prepared with extra coats and was sure to keep our fishing journey out of the wind as much as possible. Captain Scott was great with our teenagers, and even the moms! Many varieties were caught- some needed to be put back so they could conintue to grow, some were not good for eating. Extra bonus were the dolphins surrounding our boat in one of the keys, they were possibly hoping to steal our catch. Great day- would recommened and do again on our next trip.
Sarasota, Florida, United States
Captain Scott Green owns and operates Rodbender Fishing Charters in Sarasota Florida. He grew up in Iowa and fished many years in Canada with his father and twin brother. When he arrived in Sarasota in December of 1982, he started fishing Sarasota Bay. As he fished with his friends and neighbors they told him he should become a professional fishing guide. Well he did just that. The last 34 years Captain Scott has had the best fishing of his life in the Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico area. Now he loves showing visitors the thrill of saltwater fishing. Captain Scott loves to have kids on the boat; he always has fun when the kids are having fun. The look on a little girl or boys face when they bring that big fish in the boat and show it to you is priceless, but the look on your faces is priceless to him.
