True Grit Sportfishing is dedicated to catching big fish and having a great time with their guests! Cast off on an adventure with this charter, and you'll explore the best fishing spots, and learn the best techniques to reel in your dream catch. True Grit is a proud family-friendly charter, and they can't wait to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.
This professional crew is made up of avid fishermen who all possess great knowledge of different techniques, as well as how to get you on fish. They warmly welcome guests of all ages and skill levels to join them, so bring along the whole family with you!
You'll cast off onboard a 34' SeaVee center console, which was built in 2015 and has a capacity for 6 guests. She's powered by triple 300 HP Yamaha engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 50 knots, making her fast and stable on the water.
This vessel is decked out with top-quality electronics including radar, VHF radio, GPS, and fishfinder to locate your target catch. She also has all the necessary safety equipment, such as life jackets, EPIRB, and a CPR-trained crew, so you know you'll be in safe hands. You'll also find an anchoring system and an ice box on board to keep your catch fresh.
Whether you're looking to catch yourself some tasty table fare, including delicious Black Grouper, Mahi Mahi, and Blackfin Tuna, or want to battle exciting game fish such as Sailfish, Swordfish, Snook, Tarpon, Wahoo, and Amberjack, your captain and crew will put you on the species of your choice. You can also catch Barracuda, Vermillion Snapper, King Mackerel, and other Floridian favorites!
Your crew will provide rods, reels, tackle, fly fishing equipment, lures, and live bait, and a fishing license for your whole group. Captain Ryland and First mate Ben made this trip truly awesome! Real professionals! They worked the rigs hard from start to finish and delivered a very memorable experience for us. The boat is safe, spacious and in tip top condition. I forgot FAST! They had a live well full of live goggle eyes which I think was key to getting us into the sailfish. We ended up catching 3 sailfish and losing 3 more! If ever in this area of Florida again Captain Ryland would be my first call. I would recommend them to all. True Grit is the S*%t!!!!! Captain Ryland and Ben were absolutely a dream to work with. Our group had novice to experienced and we all had an amazing time. They navigated us to hot spots where we were able to catch sail fish and king fish. Their knowledge and expertise were clear as they ran sail lines and flat lines like a well oiled machine. Watching them work together on a beautiful Florida day was worth it even before we caught anything. We can’t wait to come again and spend another day out on on the water with True Grit!

We began our trip a little early to try and get in on the mutton snapper bite. We anchored up near a wreck and began fishing. The wreck was ruled by barracuda, as we brought up 3 of them, in addition to a couple bonita, one of which was half eaten by the barracuda. After a couple of hours, Capt Ryland decided to switch up our spot and tactics as we headed further north and did some bottom and kite fishing. We managed to pull up some more Bonita and a nice kingfish, before finally getting hooked into a huge mutton snapper. Overall it was an amazing day and Capt Ryland did everything possible to make sure we had the best overall experience. Would highly recommend this captain and charter if you are in the area.

We chartered a full day out of Pampano for me and my son. The water was rough and so was my son's complexion. I should have gotten dramamine for him the night before as the Captain recommended but I forgot. I didn't get sick so the first strike was mine to take. 80" Sailfish hooked on the line. I fought the fish and the rocking boat for 30 min - fun fight. waters were so rough we didn't get a good picture - too bad. All in all this was a great experience. I would recommend!

Captain Ryalnd and his first mate Ben were aamazing. They made a great team, very professional, and informative. This was my family's first time sea fishing and True Grit proved to be the best choice. We caught great fish and had an even better time. They offered drinks (water/soda) while on the water. A restroom is available if needed. I will recommend them to all my friends and family. Can't wait to book another trip with them.
