Captain Jim Swanezy is the man behind this charter, and he specializes in Trout and Salmon fishing on this vast waterway. He loves nothing more than seeing his guests' faces light up when they hook their dream catch.
Capt. Jim is a passionate fisherman with over50 years of experience under his belt. He works alongside a friendly and experienced first mate, who loves fishing and helping guests with their catch, as well as teaching them all about this Great Lake. They welcome anglers of all skill levels to join them and discover the magic of this fishery.
You'll be casting off on board a 34' Pursuit offshore sport fishing boat, which was built in 2001 and has room for up to 6 people. Bring along your best angling buddies! She's powered by twin 385 HP Crusader engines, making her a fast and sound vessel for reaching the deepest waters of Lake Michigan.
This vessel is equipped with a GPS, a VHF radio and a fish finder to make sure you'll find our target catch as efficiently as possible. You will also find all the necessary safety equipment, as well as a CPR-trained crew. She's also equipped with a full toilet and shower, a bedroom, a kitchen with a refrigerator, and an icebox that will keep your catch fresh on your journey back to shore.
This Great Lake is super rich in Salmon species, Lake Trout, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout, and Capt. Jim will have you casting your line for them all. These are excellent food fish and will make for a great lunch or dinner.
Capt. Jim and first mate will provide rods, reels, tackle, and lures, and you can even purchase your fishing license on their boat. Otherwise, please have a license ready before your trip. My brother, Todd, and I really enjoyed our half-day trip with Cap'n Jim and mate, Stacy. Weather for the charter was perfect; not a cloud in the sky with light wind. Although it was late in the season, Jim and Stacy worked hard to put us on some fish and did not disappoint! For the day, we caught 3 Chinook, 1 Coho and 1 Steelhead. My brother is a very experienced saltwater fisherman, while I am a novice. We were both very satisfied with our experience. The JJ is a very comfortable boat with all of the amenities, equipped with state of the art fishing technology. I will certainly book with Cap'n Jim again.
My brothers were visiting from SC and IA and I wanted to share a true MI fishing adventure. Captain Jim and Stacie delivered! 15 fish and never a dull moment. Stacie, his mate, was so knowledgeable and helpful. Can't thank Jim and Stacie enough. All details well handled through fishingbooker. No surprises. Well worth the trip to Holland MI to fish with Captain Jim!

Cpt. Jim and Stacy were great! We caught some beautiful fish, learned a ton and had a blast along the way - our 4hrs flew by. 10/10 would recommend.
