Connecticut Island Outfitters is based in Westport, CT. Its coastline offers many acres of skinny flats, reefs, and rips that make the area a premier destination for the most passionate light tackle anglers. With Captain Roger Gendron, you may be able to enjoy sight-casting in as little as a foot of water or take ferocious strikes off the surface.
Join Capt. Roger on his 22’ Ranger bay boat, powered by a 250 HP Yamaha 4 stroke engine. She can comfortably accommodate up to 3 people and carries a full complement of navigational electronics, including a GPS/plotter, fishfinder, and a VHF radio, as well as a remote-controlled 80 lb thrust trolling motor for a stealthy fish hunting.
During a trip of your choosing, you will be fishing the saltwater along the shoreline and islands of the Western Connecticut coast. A day out with the team will see you targeting Striped Bass, Bluefish, Little Tunny, Scup, and more. The trips are best suited for anglers with experience who like and know how to cast fishing lures or fly rods, but casual anglers are welcome and instruction is always available. Kids 10 and above are welcome to come along for the day, children under the age of 13 will be provided with life jackets.
Top-brand rods, reels, and all required tackle will be provided, as well as fishing licenses for any resident or visitor. You are welcome to bring your own fishing equipment if you want. The captain advises sinking lines for the best fly fishing productivity. You will be offered complimentary icy cold bottled water. if you want to have lunch provided for your trip, you will need to inform the captain in advance.
Connecticut Island Outfitters begins the season in May and it goes on through November. Join in the game of stealth and you will have a memorable day out on these productive waters!
