You will be fishing aboard a 30-foot 'Calypso' boat, powered by twin 150 HP Mercury engines. It has a maximum cruising speed of 23 knots and is equipped with navigational electronics, Bluetooth multimedia system, an ice-box, Tuna tubes, outriggers, downriggers, as well as2 live bait tanks and a fighting chair. What is more, there is a toilet and a bed on board the vessel to ensure your maximum comfort on the water.
Calypso Fishing Charters offers a great variety of trips to choose from. If you want to go fishing the Bay waters, the four-hour package is just what you need. A 6-hour trip will see you fishing and heading south to the beautiful beach of Las Animas, where you can go snorkeling and have lunch. The Captain's personal favorite package is a nine-hour trip, which includes fishing, snorkeling, and a trip to Yelapa to have lunch on the beach, as well as whale watching when in the season.
For those passionate anglers who want some bigger action, Calypso Fishing Charters offers a 10-hour trip up to 45 miles offshore and a 12-hour trip for two people up to 70 miles offshore. You will be able to target a variety of species, including Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel, Blue Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Red Snapper, and Skipjack Tuna.

I pulled a 50# Jack Crevelle, but it snapped the lone as we were bringing it into the boat. As our time was up they cleaned our fish, and we headed back. Luis saw a school of fish and cranked the boat over, grabbed a rod and bait. Determined to make sure we all got a fish. Luis did a super hero cast. I hooked a huge Jack. We all came back with a fish. Ill be booking with them again!

We caught a ton of Bonita, a bunch of Spanish mackerel, and a few groupers. Some bigger, fightier fish would have been fun too, but we were happy with what we caught. Also, the Calypso hooded shirts we bought are awesome!!!

The fresh ceviche the captain prepared from the 1 tiny marlin caught plus fresh tuna caught earlier in the week was hands down the greatest ever!! The captain talked about his country and the area and we learned a lot. No fish to catch this day though.

Fantastic morning of fishing
4hr ONLY FISHING IN THE BAY(5 PAX) on February 23, 2024Β β’Β 5 adultsWe got off to a late start because the boat was at a different dock than was my party, but once were underway, it was great, and the crew kept us out longer to make up for lost time. Eric and Alec were great guys who worked their butts off to make sure we caught fish. We had very little action in the first 90 minutes, so they changed their plan and took us to an area where they heard on the radio there was more action. All 4 of us landed at least one fish that was 30 lb or more, on a day when other groups returned to the docks without having caught a single fish. Eric and Alec were very patient and helpful to all of us, and it was just a terrific experience.

They were clearly an experienced charter crew and diligent in getting the right bait and lures and we were successful in catching 3 fish including a large Dorado. We were very pleased with our trip and would recommend this crew to anyone seeking a charter. Thank you Ariel for ensuring we had a great day fishing.
