Reel Time Fishing Charters offers a range of affordable trip options, two licensed and experienced captains with a proven passion for nature, fish, and people, a stable fishing platform, convenient moorage, and secure parking. Captain Josh and Captain Turk's friendly personalities, extensive knowledge of the area, and their love and enjoyment of guiding are just some of the reasons their clients return year after year.
You will be fishing aboard a 26 ft Hourston Glascraft, which features a galley (sink, table, fridge, and fully private and enclosed bathroom), a spacious deck for fishing, and a flybridge for optimal views on those nice summer days. The boat can accommodate up to six guests. The captain and the boat are Transport Canada certified and approved.
When it comes to fishing, Nanaimo offers the avid angler an opportunity to land a trophy Chinook Salmon. Other species of fish caught in the local waters are Lingcod and Coho Salmon. The season openings for these fish are as follows: Lingcod – May 1st to September 30, 2026, Coho Salmon – June 1st through December 31, 2026, and Chinook Salmon – January through March and July 15th through December 31st, 2026. Please note that all fishing is closed for the month of April.
Crabbing is another activity you can enjoy upon request. There are also scenic and wildlife options for those who wish to mix it up a little.

Le capitaine Turk a été aux petits soins avec nous et travaillait fort pour que l'on puisse attrapé de belles prises. Il a répondu à toutes nos questions. Nous y allions pour la pecau saumon, malheureusement la chance n'était pas pour nous. par contre nous avons pêché 1 grosse morue lingue et un autre poisson dont j'ai oublié le nom. (je suis débutante en pêche) ça a mordu plusieurs fois, donc tout le monde sur le bateau a pu avoir la sensation d'attraper de gros poisson. je recommande chaudement pour une belle sortie dans l'océan.
Captain Turk: gave us a great fishing experience which he can tune to the level of the fishing guests on board, novice to experienced. Has great knowledge of the coastal waters we fished, the local history, puts safety as top priority, reviewed all safety issues and concerns before leaving the dock answering questions, knows and follows all BC and Canada fishing licence and regs. Handled catch and release for us, which we reviewed before but he knew and managed for us. His vessel handles the local waters perfectly, especially in the chop of the water. He is safety first, precise, with direct instructions, efficient, friendly and accommodating. We had a great experience and salmon steaks later that night.
Our family of four (dad 45, mom 41, daughter 16, and son 12) visiting from Ontario had an absolutely epic experience with Reel Time Fishing Charters & Marine Tours. From start to finish, it was one of the highlights of our trip! The crew was professional, friendly, and knew exactly where to take us for the best action. We had so much fun out on the water, and everyone in our family was included in the adventure. The excitement really hit when we started reeling in — we caught both coho and Chinook, which made the day unforgettable. It wasn't just about fishing, either — the atmosphere on the boat was relaxed, upbeat, and full of laughs. Our teens loved it just as much as we did, which says a lot! It was the perfect mix of thrill, learning, and family fun. If you're looking for a charter that delivers big catches, amazing memories, and an all-around incredible time, Reel Time Fishing is the one to book. We can't recommend them highly enough and would do it again in a heartbeat.
We had a fantastic morning fishing for chinook salmon. Andrew and Josh certainly know their stuff and we were hooked up within minutes! Reel Time is a really professional operation with well maintained gear.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 14 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
