Great experience! Captain Roy put us on fish all morning and we did our part. Great catch and my sons had a great time and great memories. Captain Roy’s boat was exceptionally outfitted and maintained and he handled it with confidence. My only small negative reels were pretty tight and needed experienced handling. This in no way kept us from catching fish and we would book again now if we could!

Thank you Mr Lee
It was our pleasure to have y’all fishing with us. Capt Roy said he had a great time with you and your family. We do run the drags on the reels a bit tighter to get a good hook set in the hard mouths of the red fish. I’m glad everyone had a great time and we look forward to your return someday. Thanks again

Had a generally great day on the water yesterday. Nice boat, friendly guide, fine weather and above average fishing. However, certain aspects of the trip could have been better. First, although we had booked with Capt. Jason, we were assigned another guide upon arrival. We should have been advised of this beforehand. Second, the guide did not stock adequate drinks for our party of 3 and we were obliged to purchase our own at the Marina. Not good. Finally, the guide himself fished practically the whole time, mainly from the bow of the boat. He then passed the rod to the woman and child when he hooked a fish. This was a very nice thing for him to do. On the other hand, the guide might have spent more time assisting the clients and putting them in the prime fishing position.

All my guides are professional guides and conduct the charter as needed according to their skill level of the customers. Every one seem very happy with the charter when I talked with y’all at the marina after the trip.

My experience started by making a reservation request for Captain Jason on Fishing Within a few minutes Capt. Jason promptly returned my call. We agreed on a date and time , then he asked me if I needed transportation. Since I was staying in a hotel in downtown New Orleans , I said I would need transport. He immediately gave me a name and phone number of an associate he uses. I arranged transport with (Tony) and also arranged airport transfers. So convenient!  We used him on several occasions as he had extensive local knowledge. On the day of my trip , he picked me up early so I could make a stop or two before we headed to Jean Lafitte where the marina was. It was quite a ways away from the city. Once we arrived at Rick’s Marina I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of supplies and such that were available. Sandwiches, snacks, beverages, and even a cooler for my catch. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. Capt. Jason was ready for me within minutes. I was very impressed with his professionalism and the fishing vessel and equipment was top notch. I was especially happy with the condition of his rig. When I say it was spotless , I mean you could eat off the decks! As he wisked us towards the fishing grounds you could tell he was very knowledgeable of the backwaters and bayous of the area. I was amazed at the amount of water ways there were out there. He had taken many turns thru the canals and weeds. His knowledge of these waters was impressive.! You could definitely get very lost out there ....  Once we arrived at the first stop he quickly explained to me about how to fish these waters. We had a great time catching many redfish and black drum. Once we caught our limit we continued to catch and release for awhile longer . He said I wasn’t getting off that easy. I appreciated his skills and professionalism. As we headed back , I noticed how well he and his rig were prepared for my trip that day.It was well stocked with baits, sodas, water and plenty of conversation. He is a great guide in these vast waters. When we got back to the dock , he quickly and expertly filleted my fish. All skinned and deboned , bagged and iced for my return trip to Nawlins. My ride was on his way so I went into the marina were I was quickly served my choice beverage and a snack. There was even a pool table for use if you liked. I very much enjoyed my time with Capt. Jason and the crew at Rick’s Marina. It couldn’t have been a better day if I tried. My hats off to y’all !! Then on the way back, Tony took me into a local restaurant where they quickly cooked some of my catch to bring back to the hotel. They made it to my desired method and doneness ! It was delicious. Thanks Tony
