AJ’s Bass Guides
Want to get away from Orlando's busy streets and experience its most treasured natural resource? You're in the right place, Lake Toho is the #1 big bass lake in the state and our hand picked team fishes it full time. This beautiful lake is located near Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and the Orlando Convention Center.
Year after year, this lake produces more bass over 10 pounds in weight than any other lake in the country. Want proof? Just check out our pictures! We're so confident in our ability to put you on fish that we are the only guide service to offer a NO FISH NO PAY guarantee!
At any moment that one you're looking for could be on the other end of the line, and with our top of the line equipment anyone can fight them in! Just ask Capt. AJ himself who holds the second biggest bass ever caught out of the lake at 15 pounds 8 ounces and his mentor Ed Chancey holds the lake record with a 16 pound 10 ounce bass.
AJ's Bass Guides has been in business and family owned since 1968, and is Orlando's oldest and highest rated fishing guide service. Capt. AJ and his hand picked guides have also been featured in countless fishing TV shows and magazines. From In-fisherman, ESPN, ABC Sports, CBS Sports, and Bassmasters.
With AJ and his guides you'll be fishing on top of the line bass boats and center console boats. Our guides have been hand picked for not only their ability to catch fish no matter the conditions but also provide an excellent experience for groups of all experience levels.
All fishing gear and lures are provided, but you are also welcome to buy wild shiners as bait before the trip. They are $25 for a dozen and are the most effective big bass bait there is. Depending on the length of your trip, you can buy 3–7 dozen.
Trips of 4 or more people are live bait only trips because of the danger of having that many people throw artificials at the same time. If you would like to fish artificials please book 3 or less people.

We had an awesome bass fishing trip with AJ's Bass Guides, and our guide, Captain Jon, was outstanding! The bite was definitely slow because of the hot July weather, but Jon never stopped working to put us on fish. He kept moving to different spots, changing tactics, and doing everything he could to find active fish. His knowledge, persistence, and positive attitude really made the difference. We ended up catching about 16 bass amongst the three of us during our 4-hour trip, including several right around the 5-pound mark. Considering the tough conditions, we were very happy with how the day turned out. My two sons had a great time and both agreed it was definitely worth waking up early for. If you're looking for a guide who works hard and doesn't give up when the fishing gets tough, I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Jon. Thanks for a great experience, we'll definitely be back!
We booked a 5 hour trip and were guided by Captain Jay. He was great with my 11 year old, and made sure she had fun and caught several fish, including her PB, of about 4lb! The day was not perfect, as even the best guides cannot guarantee the fish will bite. We caught about 7 fish during the 5 hour trip, and only caught one during the first 2 1/2 hours. It was pretty obviously as slow day, judging by most of the reviews here and the clearly slow start, by any standard. Jay suspected/noticed that our bait was not lively enough, and called for fresh shiners, which we received about halfway through the trip. After refreshing bait and changibg spots, the bite picked up, and we caught a few nice fish to end the day. Missed out on a true hog, or a huge number of fish, but my kid caught more and bigger bass than she ever had before, and had a great time! What more can you ask for? Jay was very professional, knowledgeable and fun to fish with. I definitely recommend this trip, and would book again, but would hope that the bait is really good and lively from the start, because those shiners are WAY too expensive to just lay around out there and not catch fish! Thanks Jay!

If you are looking for a top-notch guide, look no further than AJ’s Bass Guides. We booked a 6-hour family trip on Lake Toho, and we absolutely hammered them! AJ put us right on the fish. We landed a grand total of 34 bass (plus a few heartbreakers that got away at the boat). On top of the non-stop largemouth action, we caught a crazy variety of species, including longnose gar, spotted gar, and a massive bowfin. AJ is a fantastic guy, great to talk to, and knows these waters inside and out. He kept the whole family engaged and reeling in fish the entire day. If you're anywhere near the area and want to have some fun, do yourself a favor and book a trip with Aj; you won't be disappointed. I know when we're back in the area, we're making time to get back on the water with him! Thanks again Aj!
Communication with AJ's Bass Guides was extremely clear. They delivered information and answered questions in a very timely manner. Our guide, Dalton, met us exactly where and when he said he would and had picked up the agreed upon Shiner's we'd discussed pre-trip. He was very easy to talk to, knew a lot about the lake and surrounding areas (which were new to us), and willfully shared a lot of knowledge. The weather wasn't perfect as there were continuous squalls throughout the day with the briefest of sun pops through the clouds and a lot of wind, whitecapping at multiple times. But he was well prepared for that though (including having a extra set of raingear pants which we'd forgotten). He did his best to avoid the brunt of the squalls when possible and handled the boat very well despite the wind. He did get us on to fish throughout the day. Maybe not the 100+ he'd noted the day before, but given the weather he did put us on dozens of fish mostly in the 1-3 pound range throughout the day. We were never able to hook the trophy fish we were after, but it was a great day of fishing with Dalton and we look forward to going after them again and would definitely seek out Dalton (and AJ's guides) again without hesitation.

AJ was a great fish Captain. He was very helpful and patient. Very knowledgeable of the fish and lake. We had a friendly competition between Dad and Son vs. Mom and Daughter. The boys won 10 fish to 8 fish in 2.5 hours. Biggest fish goes to son Bass 7 pounds 2 oz. Most interesting fish was a bow fin fish and the winner goes to our daughter. Captain AJ made it fun and helped us keep track of the winners. AJ next time I’ll pay you more so the girls win lol. Anyone wanting great fish, fun family fishing with a great Captain this is Your trip. Thanks AJ. Samuel and Grace will remember this forever!! Can’t wait to do it again maybe 4 hours next time.
