AJ’s Freelancer Bass Guide Service

3096 Stillwater Drive
Kissimmee FL, United States

AJ’s Freelancer Bass Guide Service invites you to enjoy a day on Lake Toho, Florida, catching magnificent Bass. Year after year, this beautiful lake produces more Bass over 10 pounds in weight than any other lake in the country. This is what makes it a Bass mecca. And this is where you will fish with AJ’s Freelancer Bass Guide Service.

Your guide, Arthur Jackson, who’s been in business since 1970, is Orlando’s largest and oldest continuously-operated fishing guide service. He is knowledgeable and kind, loves spending time on the water and loves to recall a tale of a trophy Bass caught aboard his boat.

He will provide you with the fishing gear and lures, but you are also welcome to purchase wild shiners as bait prior to the trip. They run at $18-$24 for a dozen and are the most effective Bass bait there is. Depending on the length of your trip, you can purchase 3-6 dozen. More info in trip descriptions, so head on to the trips section.

AJ’s Freelancer Bass Guide Service will take you fishing aboard a 17 foot Skeeter Bass boat originally built in 1998, and restored in 2014. It is powered by a 150 HP Mercury engine and contains the necessary safety and electronic equipment.

Your trip will not be about catching Bass only, so make sure you bring a camera to capture stunning sights of wildlife from Bald Eagles, Hawks, Osprey’s, various species of duck, as well as Alligators.

Since Lake Toho is so conveniently located near the Disney World, the SeaWorld, the Universal Studios, and the Orlando Convention Center, you can book a trip to escape the chaos of the imaginary world and join AJ’s for a fishing adventure made for adults.

About the Captain

Arthur Jackson
Kissimmee, Florida, United States
Member since February 2017
Arthur Jackson or "Jamie" has been fishing on Lake Toho since 1970. He used to come down from Maryland every year with his father, and they would fish with Captain Ed Chancy or one of his guides. After years repeating this tradition, Jamie was hooked on the idea of guiding and fishing for a living. At the age of 11, he made the decision to work for Captain Ed when he grew up, and he made it a reality at the age of 20. He purchased his own boat and moved to Florida to pursue his dream. After 6 years of guiding he became partners with Captain Ed, who became like a second father to him, teaching him all he knew about fishing. After many years of running the business together, Ed died of a heart attack while on the lake in 1998. Jamie continues to this day to run the business and guide on the lake.

We should have never gone out. Water and air temps as well as barametric pressure were too high and very little wind all making for terrible fishing conditions. The boat had engine trouble and we fished 2 spots both within eyeshot of the dock that we left from never going much faster than idle.
We were off of the lake by 9AM. and paid $100 for bait!!!!

Sorry for the bad fishing conditions. It’s rare but sometimes it happens. If you get a chance to come back down we’ll get you out on a better day!
