AJ’s Bass Guides 

We booked a 5 hour trip and were guided by Captain Jay. He was great with my 11 year old, and made sure she had fun and caught several fish, including her PB, of about 4lb! The day was not perfect, as even the best guides cannot guarantee the fish will bite. We caught about 7 fish during the 5 hour trip, and only caught one during the first 2 1/2 hours. It was pretty obviously as slow day, judging by most of the reviews here and the clearly slow start, by any standard. Jay suspected/noticed that our bait was not lively enough, and called for fresh shiners, which we received about halfway through the trip. After refreshing bait and changibg spots, the bite picked up, and we caught a few nice fish to end the day. Missed out on a true hog, or a huge number of fish, but my kid caught more and bigger bass than she ever had before, and had a great time! What more can you ask for? Jay was very professional, knowledgeable and fun to fish with. I definitely recommend this trip, and would book again, but would hope that the bait is really good and lively from the start, because those shiners are WAY too expensive to just lay around out there and not catch fish! Communication with AJ's Bass Guides was extremely clear. They delivered information and answered questions in a very timely manner. Our guide, Dalton, met us exactly where and when he said he would and had picked up the agreed upon Shiner's we'd discussed pre-trip. He was very easy to talk to, knew a lot about the lake and surrounding areas (which were new to us), and willfully shared a lot of knowledge. The weather wasn't perfect as there were continuous squalls throughout the day with the briefest of sun pops through the clouds and a lot of wind, whitecapping at multiple times. But he was well prepared for that though (including having a extra set of raingear pants which we'd forgotten). He did his best to avoid the brunt of the squalls when possible and handled the boat very well despite the wind. He did get us on to fish throughout the day. Maybe not the 100+ he'd noted the day before, but given the weather he did put us on dozens of fish mostly in the 1-3 pound range throughout the day. We were never able to hook the trophy fish we were after, but it was a great day of fishing with Dalton and we look forward to going after them again and would definitely seek out Dalton (and AJ's guides) again without hesitation.

AJ was a great fish Captain. He was very helpful and patient. Very knowledgeable of the fish and lake. We had a friendly competition between Dad and Son vs. Mom and Daughter. The boys won 10 fish to 8 fish in 2.5 hours. Biggest fish goes to son Bass 7 pounds 2 oz. Most interesting fish was a bow fin fish and the winner goes to our daughter. Captain AJ made it fun and helped us keep track of the winners. AJ next time I’ll pay you more so the girls win lol. Anyone wanting great fish, fun family fishing with a great Captain this is Your trip. Thanks AJ. Samuel and Grace will remember this forever!! Can’t wait to do it again maybe 4 hours next time.

Feeling Blessed to have the opportunity to fish with this outfit. Very professional - Very accommodating Group. We booked a Father - Son adventure and had an awesome time fishing with Captain Jay . He put us on fish early and We had many opportunities for the big bite. Caught 13 - missed many more and had many laughs .Did not want to stop! So We didn’t we called to book another trip for the next day - Jay was booked so Captain Jackson lined us up with Captain Russ. The morning bite was good and Jordan caught a personal best- ended the trip with around 19 bass and a hungry crappie. Will definitely book again- We will be return in February and will Be using AJ’s Bass Guides again🎣⚓️🇺🇸

Captain Alan had us out for 4 hours today and put us on the fish right away. It was my brother in laws first time fishing, Alan took time with him to go over everything and what to do etc, it was great to see. A most enjoyable experience and cannot recommend Alan highly enough.

My son and I had a great bass fishing trip with Captain Jay. We had lots of action and caught around 20 largies, including a 7-lb beast at the end of the trip. They use amazing shiners and also give good advice to maximize your opportunities to land fish. Captain Jay was also really fun talking to about fishing and hunting. Would highly recommend and will be going out again with him when we come back down to FL.

I had the pleasure of going with Captain Gains today. This was my first lake charter and traveled out of state. Weather wasn’t the best but I was able to catch at least 15 bass in a 4 hour span. Was able to get my PB at 4.15 lbs thanks to Captain Gains. He was very respectful, easy to talk to, and never made me feel bad when I screwed up casting or reeling in. Will definitely be back when the weather is better!

Captain Gaines put us on the fish immediately. I caught 14 beautiful bass including 4 personal best fish In A Row! The 5 best totaled 21.14 lbs. And, my new PB is 5 lbs 9 oz. Even come afternoon when the bite got a little tougher, he kept putting us on fish. I can’t wait to come back and I’ll be bringing my twin sons when I do. The shiner bite was amazing. Do yourself a favor and book this trip! I can’t speak highly enough of Captain Gaines. It was truly a pleasure fishing with him. He’s not only a great fisherman and Captain but he’s a really nice person.

Myself and 2 children went today. lake was beautiful watching the sun come up. Caught some Bass. Alan was amazing with the kids very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely book again with them if we are lucky enough to return to Florida
