Want to get away from Orlando’s busy streets and experience its most treasured natural resource? You’re in the right place, Lake Toho is the #1 big bass lake in the state and we fish it full time. This beautiful lake is located near Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and the Orlando Convention Center.
Year after year, this lake produces more bass over 10 pounds in weight than any other lake in the country. Want proof? Just check out our pictures! At any moment that one you’re looking for could be on the other end of the line, and with our professional top of the line equipment anyone can fight them in! Just ask Capt. AJ himself who holds the second biggest bass ever caught out of the lake at 15 pounds 8 ounces and his mentor Ed Chancey holds the lake record with a 16 pound 10 ounce bass.
AJ’s Bass Guides has been in business since 1970, and is Orlando’s largest and oldest continuously-operated fishing guide service. Capt. AJ and his guides have also been featured in countless fishing TV shows and magazines. From In-fisherman, ESPN, ABC Sports, CBS Sports, and Bassmasters.
With Capt. AJ you’ll be fishing onboard a 20’ Skeeter bass boat powered by a 225hp Mercury engine. It has all the latest fishing and safety equipment. All fishing gear and lures are provided, but you are also welcome to buy wild shiners as bait before the trip. They are $25 for a dozen and are the most effective big bass bait there is. Depending on the length of your trip, you can buy 3–7 dozen.
Trips of 4 or more people are live bait only trips because of the danger of having that many people throw artificials at the same time. If you would like to fish artificials please book 3 or less people.
There is also lots of wildlife on the lake so make sure you bring a camera to capture stunning sights, from bald eagles, hawks, ospreys, various species of duck, as well as alligators. Be part of the action at AJ’s Bass Guides!

6 Hour Trip
Awesome Trip-Father-Son Getaway
Feeling Blessed to have the opportunity to fish with this outfit. Very professional - Very accommodating Group. We booked a Father - Son adventure and had an awesome time fishing with Captain Jay . He put us on fish early and We had many opportunities for the big bite. Caught 13 - missed many more and had many laughs .Did not want to stop! So We didn’t we called to book another trip for the next day - Jay was booked so Captain Jackson lined us up with Captain Russ. The morning bite was good and Jordan caught a personal best- ended the trip with around 19 bass and a hungry crappie. Will definitely book again- We will be return in February and will Be using AJ’s Bass Guides again🎣⚓️🇺🇸

Awesome day on the water

2 and 1/2 Hour Trip (AM)
Best morning fishing I’ve ever experienced!
AJ is knowledgeable and drove us straight to the fish. We were luck that the fishing has been good the last few days, and it didn’t disappoint today. Total of 50 fish landed in a 2.5 hour trip! 48 Bass with the biggest being almost 5lb, a chain pickerel and a monster catfish over 10lbs. Most caught on live baits but the action was so good, when we ran out we switched to lures and they just kept coming. Highly recommend this trip to anyone in the area. We will be back :)

6 Hour Trip
Exceeded expectations!
Water was like glass which we didn't expect for such a big lake! Just beautiful with blooming wildflowers and grasses, entertaining birds and we watched an eagle catch his own fish. Captain Jay was full of knowledge about everything we saw but especially the fishing!!!! My husband and I each caught our personal best in size with the biggest at 8pounds-9!!! Captain took us to lots of hot spots and kept us busy using shiners only which were fun and effective! Had so much fun we went back for a second day which again exceeded expectations! Thank you Captain Jay for a fabulous fishing experience!🎣😎

5 Hour Trip
Awesome 4 Hours of Fishing
2 of us were in town for a conference and booked 5 hours with Captain Jay with AJ's Bass guides. Jay was simply amazing!!!! He gave us clear directions; he met us at the appointed time with the boat in the water with our bait and drinks and ready to roll. We had a fantastic 4 hours on lake Toho. Between the 2 of us we caught at least 13 bass, with the largest being about 4 pounds. Jay handled everything, offered assistance and guidance where needed. Jay made this an excellent day and worth every penny. I would highly recommend AJ Bass Guides and particularly captain Jay!
