North Fork Adventures Charters invites you for a day on the water of Southold and Shelter Island, New York. The charter was formed to provide anglers with an exceptional customized experience on the local waters. It is operated by Captain Rob, who is a local angler in love with the thrill of fishing these waters. Located just west of Greenport, the boat is conveniently situated to downtown Greenport and Southold.
Capt. Rob will show you how it's done. With more than 30 years of experience, he knows exactly what works and when it works. He will take you out on his 25' Parker walkaround boat, which provides an exceptionally comfortable ride. It is powered by two 150 HP Yamaha outboard engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots.
It has a deep-vee hull and a wide beam which both contribute to your enjoyment on the vessel, and its fishing platform will give you plenty of space and opportunities to catch the fish of your dreams.
The captain can take you on a customized fishing trip so you can target the species that you want to catch. Depending on the season, you can fish for Flounder/Fluke, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Tautog, Weakfish, Porgy, and Striped Bass.
All of our trips are designed to maximize your time on the water. Since we don't have much running time to the grounds, we usually fish for the full time, then run back to the dock. Your trip starting times are also flexible to suit your schedule as well as the tide cycle. This flexibility will give you the opportunity to maximize the fishing. The charter is made for a group of up to 6 anglers. Kids are most welcome so bring them along to learn about the greatness of the local fisheries and to experience a nice family bonding adventure.

I booked a trip with Captain Rob for strippers, not knowing what to expect as it was mine and my fathers first fishing charter. I can tell you that the experience was nothing short of perfect. Captain Rob got us on fish right away and was very patient with getting us up to speed with techniques to get fish in the boat. I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Rob. Captain Rob is personable, knowledgeable and knows the local waters well! He put us on the fish right away and my Dad pulled in a Weakfish and Fluke keeper on our first couple drops. We proceeded to catch an assortment of fish in Peconic Bay and the boat was the perfect size with room to spare. Another added benefit to the region was Captain Rob took us along to see some beautiful estates and boats on Shelter Island from the water. We had a super fun and memorable trip and will be booking again next year when visiting the North Fork. Thanks again Captain Rob, we enjoyed every second of our trip!

North Fork Adventures, fully licensed and insured is owned and operated by U.S.C.G. Captain Rob Lehnert. Capt. Rob holds a US Coast Guard 50 ton Masters License, has been fishing waters of the east end of Long Island since childhood. During that time, he fished his own boat, but also fished with 48 Viking all throughout the Northeast Canyons, South Florida, and the Bahamas. After that he landed a spot on a 74 Viking which fished the northeast Canyons, and the North Carolina coast, with both rod & reel, and spearfishing extensively offshore. All the while, he fished with a love and passion for our local waters and the fish that inhabit them from Late April, through the summer, to the storied Fall Run in October, Capt Rob is well versed in catching the targeted species.
