North Fork Adventures Charters invites you for a day on the water of Southold and Shelter Island, New York. The charter was formed to provide anglers with an exceptional customized experience on the local waters. It is operated by Captain Rob, who is a local angler in love with the thrill of fishing these waters. Located just west of Greenport, the boat is conveniently situated to downtown Greenport and Southold.

Capt. Rob will show you how it's done. With more than 30 years of experience, he knows exactly what works and when it works. He will take you out on his 25' Parker walkaround boat, which provides an exceptionally comfortable ride. It is powered by two 150 HP Yamaha outboard engines, with a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots.

It has a deep-vee hull and a wide beam which both contribute to your enjoyment on the vessel, and its fishing platform will give you plenty of space and opportunities to catch the fish of your dreams.

The captain can take you on a customized fishing trip so you can target the species that you want to catch. Depending on the season, you can fish for Flounder/Fluke, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Tautog, Weakfish, Porgy, and Striped Bass.

All of our trips are designed to maximize your time on the water. Since we don't have much running time to the grounds, we usually fish for the full time, then run back to the dock. Your trip starting times are also flexible to suit your schedule as well as the tide cycle. This flexibility will give you the opportunity to maximize the fishing. The charter is made for a group of up to 6 anglers. Kids are most welcome so bring them along to learn about the greatness of the local fisheries and to experience a nice family bonding adventure.

    I booked a trip with Captain Rob for strippers, not knowing what to expect as it was mine and my fathers first fishing charter. I can tell you that the experience was nothing short of perfect.     Captain Rob is personable, knowledgeable and knows the local waters well! He put us on the fish right away and my Dad pulled in a Weakfish and Fluke keeper on our first couple drops. We proceeded to catch an assortment of fish in Peconic Bay and the boat was the perfect size with room to spare. Another added benefit to the region was Captain Rob took us along to see some beautiful estates and boats on Shelter Island from the water. We had a super fun and memorable trip and will be booking again next year when visiting the North Fork. Thanks again Captain Rob, we enjoyed every second of our trip!

    When we arrived, Capt Rob was ready to go. He took us to several locations until we caught our fish. Weak fish and porgy. Pleasant, great with helping all of us- especially the kiddos. Rob holds a US Coast Guard 50 ton Masters License, has been fishing waters of the east end of Long Island since childhood. During that time, he fished his own boat, but also fished with 48 Viking all throughout the Northeast Canyons, South Florida, and the Bahamas. After that he landed a spot on a 74 Viking which fished the northeast Canyons, and the North Carolina coast, with both rod & reel, and spearfishing extensively offshore. All the while, he fished with a love and passion for our local waters and the fish that inhabit them from Late April, through the summer, to the storied Fall Run in October, Capt Rob is well versed in catching the targeted species.

    What a weekend on the water! After two rough weather days, we got back out there and the bass were right where we left them. Saturday’s crew hit Plum Gut and landed three beautiful slot-size keepers. On Sunday, despite heavy boat traffic, we still managed to put a solid slot fish in the box at The Race. Both charters enjoyed picture-perfect weather, delicious fillets, and memories that’ll last well beyond the ride home. With summer officially underway, I'm now booking short Peconic Bay trips for weakfish and fluke, perfect for families or a quick adventure. Plus, for the serious anglers, I’m offering full-day Montauk trips to chase ocean fluke and seabass—a true Northeast bucket-list day!

    Had the Blasz father-and-son duo out for a spring striped bass run. We got an early start and hit both Plum Gut and The Race—found action at both spots! The guys landed their two perfect slot fish to bring home for the grill, then kept the rods bent with some solid catch-and-release fun. Not a bad way to beat the heat during a June scorcher!

    We squeezed in a quick trip to Plum Gut yesterday during a short weather window—and it paid off big time! First drift, fish on. ? We landed a mix of slot, under, and oversized bass, keeping two perfect slot fish for the table and releasing plenty more. Non-stop action and an awesome way to kick off the spring daytime striper season! This bite usually stays hot through June—DM or call to lock in your date and get in on it!

    I had the Cole family back again for a great trip in the Peconic Bay. We caught fish all throughout the trip, from sand sharks to weakfish with two nice keepers for the table. Everyone had a great time, and tasty fillets for the table were brought home.

My trips are very kid friendly. I have life jackets for all sizes on board, and I cater to families with children. Children younger than 5 will have a tough time with the equipment. I try and make trips fun for kids, and can usually hold their attentio
