North Fork Adventures, fully licensed and insured is owned and operated by U.S.C.G. Captain Rob Lehnert. Capt. Rob holds a US Coast Guard 50 ton Masters License, has been fishing waters of the east end of Long Island since childhood. During that time, he fished his own boat, but also fished with 48 Viking all throughout the Northeast Canyons, South Florida, and the Bahamas. After that he landed a spot on a 74 Viking which fished the northeast Canyons, and the North Carolina coast, with both rod & reel, and spearfishing extensively offshore.
All the while, he fished with a love and passion for our local waters and the fish that inhabit them from Late April, through the summer, to the storied Fall Run in October, Capt Rob is well versed in catching the targeted species.

Spring Daytime Striped Bass • 2 adultsI booked a trip with Captain Rob for strippers, not knowing what to expect as it was mine and my fathers first fishing charter. I can tell you that the experience was nothing short of perfect. Captain Rob got us on fish right away and was very patient with getting us up to speed with techniques to get fish in the boat. I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Rob. You will not be disappointed.

Peconic Bay Inshore Trip - Morning • 2 adultsCaptain Rob is personable, knowledgeable and knows the local waters well! He put us on the fish right away and my Dad pulled in a Weakfish and Fluke keeper on our first couple drops. We proceeded to catch an assortment of fish in Peconic Bay and the boat was the perfect size with room to spare. Another added benefit to the region was Captain Rob took us along to see some beautiful estates and boats on Shelter Island from the water. We had a super fun and memorable trip and will be booking again next year when visiting the North Fork. Thanks again Captain Rob, we enjoyed every second of our trip!

Family, Fish & Fun on the Water

?? Took the Couch family out today for a special birthday trip on Peconic Bay! Three generations joined us, and it was nothing but smiles, steady bites, and perfect September weather. ?☀️
By the end of the day, everyone reeled in fish and went home with some delicious weakfish and porgy fillets for the table. ?? A great day on the water and a birthday to remember! ??

Striped Bass Success & A Look Ahead!

What a weekend on the water! After two rough weather days, we got back out there and the bass were right where we left them. Saturday’s crew hit Plum Gut and landed three beautiful slot-size keepers. On Sunday, despite heavy boat traffic, we still managed to put a solid slot fish in the box at The Race. Both charters enjoyed picture-perfect weather, delicious fillets, and memories that’ll last well beyond the ride home.
With summer officially underway, I'm now booking short Peconic Bay trips for weakfish and fluke, perfect for families or a quick adventure. Plus, for the serious anglers, I’m offering full-day Montauk trips to chase ocean fluke and seabass—a true Northeast bucket-list day!

Father & Son Bass Battle

Had the Blasz father-and-son duo out for a spring striped bass run. We got an early start and hit both Plum Gut and The Race—found action at both spots! The guys landed their two perfect slot fish to bring home for the grill, then kept the rods bent with some solid catch-and-release fun.
Not a bad way to beat the heat during a June scorcher!

The Striped Bass are Back!

We squeezed in a quick trip to Plum Gut yesterday during a short weather window—and it paid off big time! First drift, fish on. ?
We landed a mix of slot, under, and oversized bass, keeping two perfect slot fish for the table and releasing plenty more. Non-stop action and an awesome way to kick off the spring daytime striper season!
This bite usually stays hot through June—DM or call to lock in your date and get in on it!

Cole Family Charter

I had the Cole family back again for a great trip in the Peconic Bay. We caught fish all throughout the trip, from sand sharks to weakfish with two nice keepers for the table. Everyone had a great time, and tasty fillets for the table were brought home.

Caughlin Family Charter

Took out the Caughlin family from the Philidelphia area for a trip on Peconic Bay. The boys had a blast catching fish almost nonstop throughout the trip. We had plenty of action on short weakfish, porgies, and of course sand sharks. The highlight of the trip was a nice keeper weakfish, and also a keeper fluke. They all had a great time, and went home with some great memories, and some tasty fillets for dinner.
