True Blue Charters offers fantastic days out fishing Lake Michigan’s East Grand Traverse Bay for huge Salmon and Lake Trout. Lake Michigan needs no introduction when it comes to Salmon and Trout fishing, with its clear still waters packed with awesome fish, and the crew hits nothing but the very best fishing spots based on where the catch has been good recently.
The vessel you will be fishing aboard is a 35’ Tiara motor yacht with room aboard for up to 6 guests. It is powered by twin 350 HP Crusader engines, and cruises at an impressive 35 knots – not that you’ll have to travel far to find great fish! The boat comes equipped with GPS, fishfinder, downriggers, and everything you will need for your day on the water, as well as a head for extra comfort and convenience.
The crew knows that your day out is about two things – having fun and catching fish! They fish some awesome spots near to the shore in order to make sure you get the maximum fishing time while on board, and provide high-quality fishing tackle which can be set up for either jigging or trolling, depending on your preference.
Captain Brian Springstead and his skilled first mate work tirelessly on every trip to make sure you have a great time on your day with them. They will clean and fillet anything you catch at the end of the day ready for you to take home and eat.

A Fantastic Evening with True Blue Charter Fishing!

I recently took my two boys, Ethan and Luke, out for an evening fishing trip with True Blue Charter Fishing, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Captain Luke and his assistant Aaron were an outstanding team—professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the trip.
We ended the evening with an impressive catch: 7 fish total, including 2 king salmon and 5 lake trout. The pace of the action was perfect—just enough time between catches for the boys to catch their breath and get ready for the next big one. It was exciting, but never overwhelming.
The boat was clean and well-maintained, and all of the gear was in top-notch condition. You could tell these guys know their stuff and take pride in what they do. They made the entire experience seamless and fun, especially for my kids, who haven’t stopped talking about it since.
I can’t recommend True Blue Charter Fishing highly enough. Whether you’re an experienced angler or heading out for your first time, this is the crew you want. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing fishing charter!

We loved our fishing charter! Luke and Aaron were fantastic. They made sure we had the opportunity to catch fish keeping us out much longer knowing that the fish were biting later in the evening!
They were knowledgeable and extremely helpful teaching a few of us that had never fished before.
It was the highlight of our trip!

Perfect morning on the water.
Half Day Trip (Mid Day) on September 5, 2025 • 2 adults
4 hr trip. 3 guys that have been fishing together for 50 years. In 3 1/2 hrs we were 13 for 15. One was almost 25lbs for total weight of 200lbs. One line had 2 hooks and we had a double header on it. Several times we had all three of us going at the same time.
