True Blue Charters offers fantastic days out fishing Lake Michigan’s East Grand Traverse Bay for huge Salmon and Lake Trout. Lake Michigan needs no introduction when it comes to Salmon and Trout fishing, with its clear still waters packed with awesome fish, and the crew hits nothing but the very best fishing spots based on where the catch has been good recently.
The vessel you will be fishing aboard is a 35’ Tiara motor yacht with room aboard for up to 6 guests. It is powered by twin 350 HP Crusader engines, and cruises at an impressive 35 knots – not that you’ll have to travel far to find great fish! The boat comes equipped with GPS, fishfinder, downriggers, and everything you will need for your day on the water, as well as a head for extra comfort and convenience.
The crew knows that your day out is about two things – having fun and catching fish! They fish some awesome spots near to the shore in order to make sure you get the maximum fishing time while on board, and provide high-quality fishing tackle which can be set up for either jigging or trolling, depending on your preference.
Captain Brian Springstead and his skilled first mate work tirelessly on every trip to make sure you have a great time on your day with them. They will clean and fillet anything you catch at the end of the day ready for you to take home and eat.

We did a half day morning trip with True Blue and Captain Luke. Couldn’t be happier with the trip and service. The boat was nice - well maintained and plenty of room for our party of 6. Luke is everything you’d want as a captain of a fishing charter. Extremely experienced, friendly, hard worker, and great instructor for the kids (and adults) on the trip. I’m convinced that we wouldn’t have done as well with someone who didn’t work as hard as Luke did. We caught a bunch of really nice lake trout, and everyone in our group got in on the action. We had a blast! I highly recommend True Blue Fishing Charters!

we caught our limit of Lake trout and a big king salmon and a smaller one. both the captain and the first mate couldn’t have done a better job. we pulled in with two other charters behind us and they were all looking over are catch. maybe lucky or just a good guide!

The captain and mate did a great job. I have fished for years but not here in the north so I had a lot of questions which they happily answered. We all caught fish 2 large lake trout and even a salmon although it was early in the season.

Group of six with 4 being first timers. All enjoyed the trip. Captain Luke and Mate Trevor gave us a few fising tips that ensured all caught fish. Left with a simle and cooler full of fillets.

Caught our 4 person limit of Lake Trout in the 1st 2 hours and continued fish g and switching up baits in hopes of finding some early salmon. Just before dark we landed a very nice king which was the highlight of our trip!
