Four Aces Sport Fishing invites you on a fishing trip on the waters of Lake Erie. You'll head out of Ashtabula, Ohio, an area well-known for great fishing thanks to its location at the heart of the central basin, which draws very large fish. The charter is operated by Captain Tom Welcome who has fished these waters for over 2 decades!

Hop aboard his 30' Sportcraft walkaround, ideal for up to 6 anglers. She's got a 545 HP Marina Power engine that gets you to productive fishing grounds fast. She's also fully equipped with the necessary safety equipment and a CPR-trained crew, as well as navigational features including GPS and a Fishfinder. What's more, she has an onboard toilet to make each trip more comfortable.

You'll head out in search of large Walleye, Perch, White Bass, and Steelhead that are found in abundance in this section of Lake Erie. You'll use a variety of fishing methods including drift fishing, jigging, trolling, and light tackle in order to hook your prize. Capt. Tom advises you on the best methods to use depending on the season and the area you're exploring.

All of the necessary fishing gear, including rods, reels, tackle, live baits, and lures, already awaits on board. Bring along any drinks and snacks you'd like to enjoy, as well as an Ohio fishing license. Capt. Tom welcomes beginners and children, as well as experienced anglers!

Phenomenal Walleye Trip

Full Day Trip – Summer Trolling on August 15, 2025 • 6 adults

The fishing was fantastic!!  We could not believe how good the bite was on Erie and we didn’t have to make any adjustments, in fact we couldn’t even get the lines set and we had fish on!!!  Tom was wonderful in working with the kiddos to have them help run the gear and also catch the fish.  Great captain, great boat, amazing memories!

Captain Tom is a great guy. He took time to show us how to catch fish. We had a great time fishing and Tom worked with us showing different techniques and his skill in coordinating having multiple lines in the water resulted in our limit catch of big walleye. We really felt a part of the team instead of a bystander. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this charter and look forward to the next time. 4 Aces is hard to beat for sure.

Full day trolling with my family

Full Day Trip – Summer Trolling on August 8, 2021 • 3 adults • 2 children

I chose to go to Four Aces because the captain stated he was going to involve the guests in the entire trolling process and not just reel in the fish by taking turns. I have trolled but my family had never done it, but they do like fishing. We all learned a lot about trolling for walleyes.  I would like to compliment Captain Tom and his mate Kenzie for being friendly, patient, knowledgeable and dogged in getting us our limit. As an aside, my son got sea-sick, but the captain was empathetic, helpful, and respectful all day. When you are sea sick, everything is miserable and I am glad he did not pick on or tease my son as he slowly got over the motion sickness enough to get back to fishing. By the way, our party of five limited out. A lot of big walleyes, too. We had a little excitement with a steelhead and had to deal with some dinks and a few sheephead. We were happy and exhausted. I would certainly fish with Captain Tom again. The man works hard all day to get you on fish and makes you part of the whole adventure.

Walleye Day Trip

We had a great outing with Captain Tom.  We caught piles of fish and really enjoyed learning how to fish for walleye. The kids had a great time helping to rig, net, show off their catches, and even clean the fish!
