Lake Erie is known as the Capital of Walleye and produces the finest specimens of this species year-round. Captain Jim Fishel, who has chased trophy fish since he was a boy with his father, will take you to the best spots where the best fish can be found.
The Makin'Memories team will take you fishing aboard Makin'Memories, a 30' Cherokee offshore sportfishing boat with 12' beams. The deck of the boat is so spacious it can carry six guests and crew comfortably. You and your group will enjoy a secure, relaxing, and pleasurable ride. The boat is equipped state of the art fishing and navigation equipment.
Captain Jim Fishel has many great stories about the days of the 'Blue Pike' that were caught on Lake Erie. His passion drives him to track the Walleye migration as it passes by the Port of Conneaut. He has over 60 years of fishing experience on the Great Lakes.
In 1991, Captain Jim Fishel teamed up with Captain Jim Holtzman, and since then, this dynamic duo has been running trips from daylight to dark, whenever the fish are biting. This fishing tag team has over 100 years of Great Lakes experience together!
Makin'Memories Fishing Charters will include live bait, lures, rods, reels, and tackle on your trip. At an additional charge, your catch can be cleaned and filleted for you by the local bait shops once the trip is over.

We decided to do a trip with Captain Jim. I have went out on his boat 5 other times. When I had a few guys that wanted to go this year I couldn't think of anyone better to go with that Makin Memories! The knowledge Captain Jim has of the lake and the fish is outstanding. This crew will go above and beyond the get you the fish you deserve! Went out this past Saturday and had an amazing time! We couldn't ask for better weather, more fish, or a better crew to guide us on this fishing trip! If your looking to go and want a charter group that makes your trip a priority and has the knowledge to go along with thier skills Makin Memories is who you want!
Captain Jim & wife were so hospitable & friendly. We had a fabulous time touring parts of Lake Erie & hearing some history of the area. We look forward to booking future trips with them & even trying some fishing.
Great experience, crew was very knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. Made sure all of us on board had a good time and all our needs were met. We had 5 of us (my father, 2 brothers, my wife and myself) and everyone had a great time. Had some choppy waves and they made sure we were safe and secure. Would highly recommend anyone to experience lake Erie fishing with this crew. Thank you for a wonderful time. Our mini family reunion was awesome and we definitely were "making memories".
Everyone caught their limits. Friendly captain and crew. They bent over backwards to make it a great trip.
Captain Jim put us right on the fish during an evening charter and we were back at the dock with our limit on the board within 2 1/2 hours of fishing. Very knowledgeable with years of experience! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a walleye trip!
