Captain Steve Nixon is a veteran angler and a full-time Fishing Guide with over 40 years of experience fishing Canyon Lake. Come join him at Canyon Lake and have the chance of catching a fish of a lifetime! Canyon Lake is known for Striped Bass weighing over 20 pounds.
Your trip will take place on a 26' Majek Extreme center console that can sit up to 6 guests. The boat runs on a 250 HP Yamaha engine, uses all the latest navigation technology, and is equipped with downriggers. It also features a wireless trolling motor, a livewell, and an ice-box.
The main species you will target here are Largemouth, White, and Striped Bass, as well as Crappie. Using light and heavy tackle, you can attract your prey by bottom fishing, trolling, spinning, and jigging. You are free to keep the fish you catch. The boat is kid-friendly, which gives you the chance to spend a lovely stay in nature with your whole family.
Captain Steve will provide you with all the rods, reels, tackle, as well as lures. You should bring your fishing licenses and whatever food and drinks you want before you start your trip.

We arrived a bit late due to a sudden bout of sickness on my end, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating from the start. We ended up splitting into two groups, and my friend and I had the pleasure of going out with Captain Dane, and he was an absolute standout. Dane was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable about Canyon lake. Even though I struggled with motion sickness for part of the trip, he never made me feel uncomfortable or like I was taking away from the experience. In fact, he stayed present, encouraged me, and helped me catch my very first fish which meant so much to me, especially since this trip was a birthday gift to myself. My friend, who has a bit more fishing experience, also had a great time and caught a few fish as well. The entire experience felt welcoming, relaxed, and genuine no pressure, just good energy and guidance. Big thank you to both Captain Steve and Captain Dane for making this such a positive and memorable outing. I would absolutely recommend this experience and look forward to coming back to redeem myself for round two!

Captain Steve is fun to fish with & knows Canyon! It was a great day on the water, good conversation, fish tales and fresh fish for dinner tonight!
