Fish of the Gitch invites you on a Lake Superior fishing adventure with Captain Lorin LeMire. This charter is dedicated to Lake Superior fishing and all the species that populate the lake's bountiful waters. Captain Lorin has fished Lake Superior for over 20 years and says he was hooked from the moment he first saw the Gin-clear waters of the lake.
Fishing is done aboard Captain Lorin's 22' Lund Baron powered by a 250 4-stroke Yamaha. There is also the quiet trolling advantage of Yamaha's high-thrust 9.9 kicker. The vessel is fully equipped with electronics, including a top-of-the-line Humminbird, Garmin, autopilot, and a Fish Hawk device measuring the thermocline and preferred speed with precision.
The boat's fishing deck is equipped with Cannon downriggers and rod holders in a TraxTech rail system. There is a system in place for the restroom; it is not 5*, but it is clean and does the job. There is an onboard icebox to keep your catch fresh, as it's stocked full with ice.
Fish of the Gitch offers half and full day trips on Lake Superior from April through October, when the fishing here is outstanding. You will be able to target a multitude of species such as Brown and Lake Trout, Steelhead, Walleye, Coho, Pink, and Chinook Salmon, and other species. Please note, Captain Lorin recommends catch and release for larger Lake Trout.
Captain Lorin only carries top-notch fishing gear and provides rods, reels, tackle, and lures on all trips. Your catch can be cleaned and filleted at the end of the trip, so bring a cooler in order to transport your catch home. Please leave this in your vehicle to conserve space.
In the past, Lorin ran larger boats. In order to stay on the best bite, he has downsized to a smaller, more mobile vessel. He now trailers his boat to optimize the best chance a great fishing. Come take a boat ride and see just what kind of fish the Gitch has for you.

Full Day Trip on August 5, 2017 • 4 adultsFull day with Captain Lorin (Fish of the Gitch) The Captain was superb. His knowledge, experience, and PASSION for fishing overcame a slow bite on the lake Saturday. We caught double digit fish that included lakers, coho salmon, and to my great surprise, a bonus 28 inch walleye! I have been trying to land a whopper walleye for 30 years. As the day unfolded, reports of a very slow bite with poor results came in, we were very fortunate to have success on such a challenging day! Thank you Captain Lorin! It could not have been more enjoyable! Picture of my prized catch, and lunchtime posted......will try to get back and post more later.

Captain Lorin is the owner and operator of Fish of the Gitch Chartering and is proud to share his love of Lake Superior and all she has to offer with you. Lorin grew up on the shore of White Bear Lake, so his passion for fishing was realized at a very young age. His true direction in fishing was discovered when he married the love of his life, Monica, and moved to Duluth. Upon his first contact with the cold, gin clear water of Superior, Lorin knew his fishing direction was about to change.
