Captain Duke Charters offers family friendly trips out of Nags Head, NC. You can join Capt. Duke and his First Mate fishing the Outer Banks on any day of the week but Sunday. Come aboard for a day of fishing that is fun for all!
You will fish aboard a 38foot new built boat with a generator offering air conditioning or heat or 110 electrical hook ups This vessel comes equipped with advanced fishing technology and all the gear you need. On board you will find a live bait well and an ice box to store your catch. A spacious cabin and a private toilet cater to your comfort. Four chairs in the cockpit provide a place to rest, while a friendly and hard working Mate will make sure your trip goes smoothly. There is room for six passengers aboard this boat and children of all ages are welcome.
While fishing with Capt. Duke you can explore the ocean sounds near Oregon Inlet or head more than 30 miles from shore. A half day trip is ideal for catching Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Spot, and many other species. A full day gives you the opportunity for deep drop fishing offshore, where you can target Seabass, Tilefish, Grouper, and more.
You will have a chance to try several different fishing techniques using rods, reels, and tackle that are provided for you. Electric reels are also available for easy fishing in deep water. You will likely be invited to join Capt. Duke on the bridge, where you can see the Captains perspective

Half Day Trip on August 11, 2026 • 6 adults • 2 childrenWe went out with captain Duke and First mate Gavin on our first ever trip on the ocean. We had smooth water and trolled - caught 25 Blues and 5 good sized spanish and lost about 10 others. We were a group of 4 adults and two kids ages 5 and 9. The kids had fun. Gavin was great about teaching them what we were using and he kept up with all the poles bending. We had two times that 4 of 5 poles hit at once. would love to go further out next time and do some fishing for some larger fish but it was a fun trip!

Half Day Trip on August 6, 2026 • 6 adults • 3 childrenThis was a great trip! We did a 4 hour inshore trip and brought home 46 Blues and Spanish Mackerel. We probably had 20 or more come off the hook and lost a couple at the boat but with that many fish nobody fretted a bit! The kids actually needed a break and went and relaxed in air conditioned cabin for a bit. Gavin was very personable, experienced, and great with everyone no matter their fishing experience. We'd book again with Captain Duke and Gavin in a heartbeat. Thank you!

We had an awesome time with captain Duke! 🎣 From start to finish, the captain and his mate were fantastic. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and worked hard to make sure we had a great experience. They knew exactly where to put us on the fish and kept everything running smoothly. The captain and mate made the trip fun and enjoyable for everyone, and you could tell they genuinely wanted us to have a great day on the water. Captain Duke and his first mate were amazing! We had a great time on this fishing charter from start to finish. We had a family fishing trip with members that ranged from 12 years old to 70 years old. The first mate Gavin was very interactive, friendly and educational with everyone. he had a perfect feel for everyone’s experience level and how to keep them involved. I suppose it may have been easy seeing we were catching fish literally every minute or two… but everything went perfectly. I would highly recommend Captin Duke to anyone thinking of doing it.
