Poacher Sportfishing specializes in inshore fishing trips around the waters of Outer Banks. Whether you are a seasoned angler, or a novice fisherman, there is room for you aboard Captain Devin’s boat.
Captain Devin has been fishing his whole life. Spending his time in the local marina fishing, he’s mastered the trade, and knows how to put you on fish. He and his first mate will welcome you aboard 42’ Bruno boat made for offshore sport fishing. Up to six anglers can come along, and in summer months, it’s ideal for kids.
Captain Devin runs shorter trips that kids enjoy, as it gives them a chance to see how fishing works, how fish bite, and how drag screams. The boat is equipped with a flybridge, fighting chair, and outriggers. It also has a toilet, the required safety equipment, a live bait well, and an ice box.
You can stay inshore and fish for Striped Bass, Redfish, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel and Kingfish. You can also head a bit further out and get to Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Little Tunny, or Amberjack. If you’re lucky, you might even see a Shark or two, or watch as turtles swim by. There are myriads of wrecks lying on the ocean floor, and also home to a lot of fish.
You can troll, spin, or jig, use light or heavy tackle, whichever you like better. Families will have a great time catching a variety of species, and can store their catch in the ice box, and later have a tasty family dinner.
The fishing gear is waiting for you onboard, along with live bait, and lures. The first mate will help out so that you have an enjoyable day on the water. Bring sunscreen, a camera, take some snacks and drinks, and come where the action takes place!
