If you like catching fish, look no further than Shark River Charters! Captain Dan Duimstra has years of experience both as a commercial fisherman and a charter operator. He'll help you reel in something exciting, no matter the species or your skill level. Join him in Marathon, Florida and take home a catch to remember.

Step aboard a 26' Parker powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine. With a maximum cruising speed of 35 knots, this vessel will get you to the fishing grounds in no time. She comes equipped with GPS, fishfinder, and a live bait well. An onboard toilet caters to your comfort. There's room for up to four passengers on board and children are welcome.

Weather permitting, Capt. Dan will take you five to six miles from shore, where you can fish the reefs for Triggerfish and various kinds of Snapper and Grouper. These are some of the most delicious species in the sea, and you're welcome to take a few home to try for yourself! You are likely to catch many other fish while casting lines near the reefs, including sharks, Mackerel, Jacks, and more. In winter, you can also kite fish for Sailfish and King Mackerel.

Shark River Charters provides a fishing license and quality tackle, featuring the craftsmanship of Fin Nor, Penn, Shimano, Saltwater Series, Star Rods, and other respected names. You may keep your catch and Capt. Dan will clean and fillet any fish that you would like to eat. Come aboard and discover what's biting below the waves in Marathon, Florida!

Great trip with a great Captain!

We had an amazing trip with him! if you want an experienced captain that knows his stuff please book with him! Ge is also great with kids! We caught 17 yellow tail snappers! sharks were eating the groupers.. not captains fault! very nice man.. came home with about 10 pounds of fish that he fillet for us! we will definitely book with him again when we come back! highly recommend!!

It’s a good life at Shark River Charters!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon spent with my wife Bonnie, Captain Dan, and First Mate Jamie fishing in the Keys. Great company and weather. Greeted at the dock by a manatee and several large tarpon feasting on the snapper scraps. Star of the day was Boo Boo (ref. Yogi the Bear 😂), Jamie’s Maltipoo, a real sea dawg and cute as they come. Enjoyed Bonnie’s fresh caught mangrove snapper with huachaningo ala veracruzana sauce following the trip. Five Stars all around!

Great Captain

Full Day Trip on July 15, 2025 • 4 adults

We had a great day with Captain Dan.  At first the trip was canceled due to the possibility of bad weather.  But,  after an updated weather forecast, we trudged forward.   While we didn't have great luck catching keeper fish, we had a fabulous day with Captain Dan.   He taught us about fishing that only an experienced fisherman knew about.  He took his time teaching my teenage son and daughter Riverhow to fish.  I highly recommend Shark Charters.

Dan did a great job of getting us on the fish and helping us have a really good time. We fished for a half a day on the Gulf and got our limit of mangrove snappers. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

We had some weather issues and Capt Dan's flexibility was great!  We caught some fish but not a lot because of the cold temps.
