Capullo Sportfishing is a charter service based out of Tamarindo Beach in northwest Costa Rica. They take great care when catering to the individual needs of clients, regardless of age or skill level.
Captain Gerald Ruiz has been fishing out of Tamarindo for 28 years. He takes charter success personally and works tirelessly to ensure that every trip is not only successful but also fun.
His boat is a 22’ Boston Whaler center console that’s powered by twin 60 HP Yamaha engines. There’s plenty of room there for yourself and a pair of friends to head out and have the time of your life! This vessel will have everything you need for that, from all the necessary safety gear and navigation electronics to a pair of outriggers, tuna tubes, and a livewell for bait storage.
These are prime grounds for sportfishing and angling in general, so expect to encounter the likes of Sailfish, Amberjack, Roosterfish, Mahi Mahi and a number of other species. You can have plenty of success on shorter trips too, so the way you go about it is completely up to you. Not only that, but there are also some great spots for fly fishing to be done.
Capt. Gerald will provide you with all the necessary rods, reels, and tackle for the trip. He’ll also clean your catch after the trip is over, so you can just relax and focus on the fish. Make sure to bring your sunglasses so you don’t have to squint, and you’re ready to fish until you drop.
