We wanted to catch fish to eat. Johnny and Joseph had us on fish with the first line down once we got to their first spot. Mission accomplished! The boat is modest but that is exactly what we chose and expected. We prefer to be able to touch the water and their style of boat allows for that. The rods and reels were top notch and worked smoothly. The crew, Johnny and Joseph, were expert at their craft. The wind and waves kicked up some while we were out and they handled the conditions expertly, all while fishing at the same time. We caught plenty of snapper and grouper to feed our families within the first hour of our half-day trip. We then switched to trolling for trophy fish. Even though that approach didn't produce fish it was great to have time to try. I appreciated the care both Johnny and Joseph showed for the fish we caught but weren't keepers. They took the time to make sure each fish released was able to swim away under its own power. I recommend Maryola Tours. I will definitely book another trip with them!

Went out with Daniel and Johnny on 2/7/26. Daniel wanted to leave an hour early, which I like. we were out on the fishing grounds way before everyone else. Started off with Skipjacks, trying to pick yellowfin out of the schools. Ended up with one Yellowfin. My buddy asked to catch bigger fish, immediately hooked into a nice Sail. Did some jigging for red snapper, then went for Cabrera. Hooked into a massive Bull Shark while fishing the bottom for Cabrera, we wanted bigger fish and got it. Daniel put us on the fish and Johnny is uncanny at hooking up. Pura Vida!

We had a great time and caught a ton of fish. hooked a goliath grouper but it straightened the hook and spit it after an hour long fight! I told Daniel I wanted to fish topwater instead of trolling and he made it happen. We followed the birds around and hooked a jack crevalle on virtually every cast with a popper! Including a couple huge ones! We spent some time jigging and caught a few other species as well. All in all it was a wonderful trip and I would definitely do it again!

Captain picked us up right on time. They had the boat and poles ready to go. We were on the water quickly and started trolling within about 20 minutes. Found a school of Skipjacks pretty quickly and caught about 20 in an hour. We stopped trolling and moved to bottom fishing (not sure why the change so quickly when our goal was tuna, sailfish, dorado, but we trusted the captain). Bottom fished for about an hour and had lots of bites. Caught a small rainbow runner. Hooked up something big but the hook broke (bummer!). The conditions changed quickly and we had to head inshore. We trolled close to shore and caught a bonito, 2 snappers (small) and 2 groupers (very small). They cleaned and fileted the keepers for us. We had a positive experience overall. The sandwiches provided were disappointing-bring your own snacks and sandwiches. We also wouldve liked if we could’ve been more involved in the fishing and if the crew would’ve been more communicative. Additionally, while the boat was kept clean, we would probably book something bigger with more power next time. It was a good experience and value for what we paid.

Caught the BIGGEST FISH of my life on this charter. The captain and crew was very friendly, attentive, and well educated. My wife and I fish all the time back home, but nothing like what we caught on this charter. I really suggest anyone looking for an exceptional experience and to catch some BIG FISH and nice fish to eat after the trip you should look no further and book with them.
