The Great Escape welcomes you to the stunning waters of Destin.
The fish in these waters include King Mackerel, Permit, Red Snapper, Wahoo, Gag Grouper, Mako Shark, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Scamp Grouper, and more if conditions allow.
On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
The Great Escape is a child-friendly charter service, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your excursion begins aboard a 58ft Chris-Craft Convertible with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with The Great Escape.
