We booked an 8 hr trip, and the first fish hooked up was a sailfish! My son let his best friend reel in the first fish, and he may have been regretting it a bit after seeing the size of one of his bucket list fish. However, the crew worked tirelessly to keep fresh bait in the water, and incredibly, a few hours later, my son landed a large sailfish of his own. Two in one trip? Amazing! In between those trophies, we reeled in 5 gorgeous Mahi and about a dozen Bonita. Having been on multiple deep sea fishing charters in various countries throughout the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Australia. This was by far the most action-packed trip we’ve been on. And we didn’t do any bottom fishing, which is a bonus if you’ve already done that plenty. Trolling for big game fish is unlike anything else. Although no charter will guarantee that you will catch fish (remember it’s called fishing not catching), this captain and crew worked non-stop. I don’t think the boat ever sat still, and the crew manned the 4-6 rods that were in the water at any given time like a well-choreographed dance. They also provided drinks, snacks and tasty sandwiches, which was nice since we had taken a ferry over to the island from our resort in Costa Mujeres. Something I wish I would have paid attention to is the fact that we had to scramble to get transportation to Isla Mujeres. We ended up booking an uber to the ferry port (Puerto Juarez), then buying ferry passes. It’s about a 30 min ferry ride, but we sat on the upper uncovered deck and enjoyed the breeze. On the way back, there was some free entertainment on the ferry ride from a guy with an acoustic guitar that sang and played for everyone. The ferry is convenient because it runs every 30 mins all day long starting at I believe 6:00.

My girlfriend and I booked the boat for the day. We really had a great day. Captain Luis put us on fish almost immediately when we began fishing. 2 sailfish and over 10 bonita. even if we wouldnt have caight fish, Luis and his mates were great! definitely recommend Keen - M!

Great crew. Aet the rig the fastest I have ever seen. They really know what they are doing to catch fish. We had a sea sick passenger that they were very kind to and helped as they could. We had just arrived to town and only at the dock found out that the day before all boating on the island was shut down for high wind conditions. It was still very windy and in my past experiences, the charter would have recommended trying another time..4-8' swells the whole trip. After we caught a couple, we asked to end early because it was a very rough experience.

Captain and crew were fantastic. Caught a sailfish and enough mahi and grouper to feed a family of 10 with leftovers. Highly recommend using Blue Ballyhoo restaurant to cook your catch. They will store it after it is prepped at the dock and make it into a delicious meal for a good price. Loved whole trip

My son-in-law and I had a great day on the Lilly M. Had three sailfish on at once, landed two. Then went out to fish for bottom fish where we caught snapper and a trigger fish plus a barracuda. Had the fish prepared for us at the Blue Ballyhoo, delicious!
