PLEASE READ ENTIRE THING as I have come too an understanding that NOT everyone reads and understands the type of trip their booking....I invite you to a day of world-class saltwater FLATS FISHING in the Florida Keys and Everglades. I have been on the water my whole life (guiding in the Florida Keys for 20 years) and hope to be the one to make your fishing dreams come true. Whether you're someone who's just starting out or a veteran angler with decades of experience, I will make sure the trip is tailored to your needs.
You'll be fishing aboard an 2024 18ft Hell's Bay Boatworks custom made flats skiff that's powered by a 115hp.Yamaha engine (BOAT IS 18 FEET LONG and theirs pictures in gallery) Its small size makes it great for quietly approaching our shallow water gamefish...I don't use a trolling motor! Instead, I will be using a pushpole too quietly maneuver the skiff through the shallow water...Traditionally the way this fishing is done and STILL the most silent way too sneak up our wary gamefish!
I specialize in trips that include going deep into the Everglades backcountry and shallow water flats after TARPON,BONEFISH,PERMIT,SNOOK and REDFISH. Successfully hooking these fish requires a degree of skill and practice, which is why I will be there to lend a hand if necessary. I can accommodate anglers who prefer fly fishing, as well as those who like to stick with spinning gear.
The price of a trip includes the use of gear such as Penn spinning reels, Loomis, Hardy fly rods, Tibor fly reels, Power Core Custom Rods, Duckett Fishing INC rods, etc. Feel free to bring along some drinks and snacks if you like, and having a pair of sunglasses and some sunscreen is highly recommended.....PLEASE, NO BLACK SOLED SHOES OF ANY KIND!! Leaves black marks on non skid deck and takes forever too clean off..

From all the photos and reviews my dad and I expected to catch something. But instead of not catching anything we didnt even see anything. Now this wasnt the captains fault just seemed to be a odd day for fishing. Captain Randy worked hard to try to get us on some bonefish at the end but as they usually do… they spooked. Theres a level of practice and fishing you need to be at to go on this trip that I hadnt expected. Thanks for trying captain Randy.
Randy was a great captain and teacher! The water and atmosphere was so peaceful and we moved around a lot to locate more fish. My husband was really able to practice fly fishing and caught a baby tarpon - 1st tarpon and on a fly rod! Reccomend Randy for the art and skill of fishing on his trips - had a blast and would go again!
The ghosts of the flats don't always cooperate - but we found a small school, one cast, and one bonefish in the boat. It has always been a bucket list to catch a bonefish, and now I can say I've done it!
