January is right in the middle of Singapore’s monsoon season. This means rain—and a lot of it. Most charters are not fishing the regional waters but you can still find great night fishing trips in the Southern Islands.

February

The whole country is getting excited about Chinese New Year. If you can tear a charter guide away from their friends and family, expect lots of Snappers and Groupers, and you may get a Mackerel, too.

March

March means one thing in Singapore—the beginning of spring. The northeast monsoon season is over, so expect consistently warm temperatures matched with red hot fishing. Look for Mackerel, Grouper, Snappers, and more.

April

The fishing is on top form, with Mackerel, Barracuda, Grouper, Parrotfish, Coral Trout and many more on the cards over reefs and wrecks. Giant Trevally, Queenfish, and Barramundi also brighten up the day.

May

The excellent fishing continues: show off your skills at the Raffles Marina Boat Fishing Competition. This is one of the best times of the year to catch Barramundi, so get your fill before summer.

You got to take a boat out and fish around structures or reefs. The areas around jetties are barren from overfishing and Singapore does not a recreational fishing body that ensures there are fish for recreational purpose. You can cram onto a boat with 10 other people or try kayak fishing (see Fever.sg for my review, highly recommend it).

We had a really fun day out at sea learning something new from Capt Tiger. All of us are beginners and he was very patient and accommodating in teaching us the basics. Awesome trip! Boat was clean, comfy and air-conditioned. Captain Ron and Firdaus were very friendly and helpful! We felt very comfortable and had a great trip. Rods and live bait were provided. They have very clear and concise teachings on fishing. The spot which we were brought to had plenty of fish of different variety. All due to captain Ron’s local knowledge. Looking forward to the next trip to catch some Garoupa( as seen on his TikTok ) :))

Our family had a wonderful time fishing with Captain Rom and Teddy. The boat was very nice and clean. Extra bonus they had karaoke available to help bridge the time between fishing spots. We fished off of Sentosa and the scenery of the Singapore skyline was beautiful. We caught some small grouper and a beautiful parrot fish. Captain Ron gave us a grouper that he caught that weighed almost 10 pounds and it was delicious. This trip was definitely worth the price.

The boat is incredible. Large Indoor area with table and sleep area.. back has a grill, upstairs has wonderful seating and views. We each caught a tiny cod but day was great and captain Ron was a wonderful guide. I would say while fine for fishing the boat is so awesome and spacious it would be great for a family or party to spend four hours enjoying the islands and relaxing

Booked a half day trip with Captain Ron a week in advance, and had an absolutely awesome trip with him! Captain Ron was very punctual, friendly and knowledgeable about the fishing spots around Sentosa island. He taught us how to setup our rods and how to catch fish, and we caught a good number of fish, even a rare Coral Trout too.
