Yes I would the boat was excellent the skipper Michelle was ist class,very polite, helpful,and tried her best to put us on the fish moved 6 times,but we got a feed,that's just fishing,we loved it.

Recommend Captain Brett and his deckhand and their boat Motutere. Every thing i expected of a charter was carried out. They were both extremely helpful whether preparing bait, asking everyone how thy were faring and more importantly, untangling lines during the numerous tangle ups.
Lastly i would recommend that people always take warm gear regardless of weather

Know that it is winter on a boat with a few people on board with various experience so if sport fishings you thing then probably not the trip for you but they do offer this option on different bookings. you will catch fish with this boat and captain

Take a day on Te Kuia or Manutere(?) as an introduction. If you like it then go wider for an overnight around Mayor Island if thats your preference. Fish can be caught anywhere.

It may pay to advise clients with childrenchildren that in the lead up to Christmas there may be more 'Drinkers' than Fishermen on board. OK for adults but not so good for the 10-16 year olds.
Brett is a great Skipper and the boat well maintained and equipped were it not for the 'over imbibers' the trip would have been fantastic and we will certainly book again - just not in December!

The trip was good despite the lack of good-sized fish. Wayne tried his best to find a good spot, but at the end of the day, we did not have much good luck on the trip. I managed to catch four descent-size snappers. So it was a good trip for me.

Not bad. We had good weather but wind and current was fighting each other and made it difficult the get onto the reefs. We had to try multiple locations before we were onto keep size fish. The travel time, although smooth, was long and limited the fishing time. The pod of dolphins we encountered was a bonus! All and all a good trip for the price.

Me and my fiance are on a holiday in New zealand and wanted to go fishing. We stumbled upon deepstar charter and gave it a go. We had a wonderfully time, good and funny crew and very helpful.
Would totally recommend going there, we had a great day and came home with good fish.

Perfect day with calm seas. Quintessential mariners Garth (Skipper) & Andy (Technical Asviser & Deck Hand) escorted us us on a day reef excursion on a well travelled character fishing launch with many a kiwiana touch. Our group of 4 +4 adults & kids had a full days top entertainment. Fish were a little elusive at times but we managed a good haul with tales that will only improve as the years roll on. Thanks a million.
