Start times are flexible Winter fishing is one of the best times to catch trophy sized Stripers. We will drift big soft plastic baits in areas that big fish hang out or troll big umbrella rigs around flats and river edges. If the bite is slow we may switch over to live bait. I keep rods rigged for all 3 techniques readily available every trip to make sure we are prepared for everything.

We troll huge lures to find bigger fish, but sometimes we use bait. It depends on the fish that day, but we try to focus on the bigger fish. We have caught many over 30 inches, but 22 to 28 inches is the average.
