With more beautiful and warm days on the horizon, dedicate some time to saltwater fishing and you won&rsquo;t be disappointed by the result. The Lingcod season is officially open, and you can also target Rockfish, Halibut, and Flounder.

Now that Salmon have spent some time in the ocean, they&rsquo;re slowly entering the rivers up and down the coast, and fishermen are ready! You can also change things up with deep sea fishing and go after Albacore Tuna.

Salmon are gone, but worry not, because Rainbow Trout and Steelhead are coming to make everything better. The winter Trout fishing is incredibly productive and you can find some jumbo specimens in the rivers this time of year.

There&rsquo;s not much to catch in the ocean waters, except perhaps a Flounder here and there. The lack of saltwater action is more than compensated on the freshwater front, where Trout are biting left and right.

With spring weather comes the beginning of the Rockfish season, and there&rsquo;s plenty for you to catch out there! You can find solid Trout fishing on the rivers, but these fish prefer colder water, so will be less active as time goes on.

While freshwater fishing offers some decent Rainbows, all eyes now turn to the Pacific, where you can get your hands on a great variety of bottom fish. Whether it&rsquo;s Halibut, Rockfish, or Lingcod, it&rsquo;s up to you.

Any angler worth their salt knows that a Washington Coast fishing trip is something that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. With well over 150 miles of Pacific coastline and rivers brimming with sport fish, the area is famous for its superb action.

	What&rsquo;s amazing about the Washington Coast is that its fisheries are so versatile. When you want some saltwater fishing fun, all you have to do is head to the ocean and pick your target. Bottom dwellers like Rockfish, Halibut, and Flounder are the most popular catch. If you prefer deep sea fishing, then chase Albacore Tuna in summer months.

	While the ocean bite is excellent, it&rsquo;s the freshwater action that puts the area on the map. The Calawah, Whynoochee, and Humptulips Rivers boast premier Salmon and Rainbow Trout fishing. Chinook and Coho are the stars of the show and, in some parts, you can also come across the elusive Pink Salmon. Crabbing is another popular pastime with delicious results.

	There&rsquo;s a lot of local guides all over the Washington Coast, but one thing to bear in mind is the seasonality of the trips. Talk to your captain before you head out and they&rsquo;ll advise you about the best time to go fishing. After that, you can take your pick between half day and full day options, and there are also specialized expeditions if there&rsquo;s a species you&rsquo;d like to chase.

	Some of the best spots where you can book your charter are Montesano, Hoquiam, Ilwaco, and Westport.

This is an exceptional fishery to stock your freezer with great quality bottom fish. We are allowed one Halibut per person and 2 Lingcod.  We travel offshore and fish depths of 500-700 feet deep for these bottom dwellers.
