What to Expect
With calm backcountry and grass flats leading into open bays, you'll target Snook in different environments. The calm waters make it possible for beginners to give fishing a go, while the sheer number of fish will satisfy the hardiest anglers.
During winter, a Tampa Bay Snook fishing charter will take you to the shallow backcountry and flats. These calm waters are more suited to experienced anglers as you’ll spend your day quietly going after your prey. Snook scare easily, so you’ll need to cast without arousing suspicion.

Bay Reef Fishing Charters

Check what kind of fishing youโll be doing (trolling, spinning, bottom fishing) with the captain. A lot of boats list all fishing techniques like my charter did, but all we did was trolling even though we asked to change it up. Conditions, time of year etc I know are all factors in whatโs working so good to check!

We didn't have ideal weather as it was overcast and a bit windy with a storm coming in, but the fish were hungry and biting. We packed some long sleeves since it was a little chilly with the wind, but overall it was a great experience.
