the fishing was tough on july 3rd. had a week long heat wave. Captains can only put you on fish, they cant make them bite.

Show Up & Fish Charters
Our captains told us morning fishing is typically better. We went in the afternoon and thankfully had plenty of luck. We did have the best luck when the sky was mostly cloudy, but there was at least one of our fish pulled in at full sun, too. I was also very grateful for our captain's communication and tipto wear pants, tall socks, and tennis shoe to avoid the black flies as much as possible. I had no idea those flies lived out in the middle of the lake on the water.

Going out at 7:00 am, with a great captain. Entering the big lake from Lac La Belle, oas the mist rose above water that loked like glass. worthevery penny and we brought home fresh fish and memories.

June is considered the slower season, with almost all the salmon out in the lake. The focus is more on pike and bass. There is a species of steelhead that stays in the river in the summertime, but it isn't as common.
