Welcome to LZ Fishing Charters, located in beautiful Anna Maria Island, FL, specializing in offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay! Your captain, Zack Horton, is an avid angler and outdoorsmen with a love for fishing and everything the ocean has to offer. With Capt. Zack you not only are hopping aboard with a knowledgeable fishing captain, but a Capt. that loves to share in and educate with others about the environment and all of the different species of wildlife that you are sure to see on your day on the water.

As far as the fishing goes, your Capt. will reach out and talk to you and your party prior to your trip about what you’re specifically looking to do/catch! Primary targets depending on the time of the year include different species of Snapper, Hogfish, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Red and Gag Grouper, Porgies, Grunts, Cobia, and even Mahi. Of course the sharks are ever present as well! 

LZ Charters fishes out of a large 26’ Deep V Center Console powered by twin 175 horsepower Suzuki outboards. This boat cruises at 35 kts with a max speed of 50 kts. It has the horsepower to get you and your crew out to the fishing grounds fast! Fishing with a max of 4 anglers, this allows the Capt. and the anglers to have more than enough room to work when reels start singing and fish start hitting the deck. Aboard you’ll find a spot lock trolling motor, 30 rod holders, top of the line GPS and fish finding electronics, a sound system and of course all of the required USCG safety equipment. Capt. Zack provides all of the fishing licenses for your party, all of the rod and reels, the tackle, the bait, a cooler full of ice and bottled water. Simply bring your drinks, bring some snacks, some sunblock (rub on please), don’t forget the sunglasses and you’re ready to roll!!!

A spin off of our 4-hour trip! A taste of Tampa Bay, for this trip we will be primarily focused on some of the reefs and structure inside Tampa Bay or we may sneak back in the back country! This trip is perfect for the group that isn't sure of committing to the full 4 hours or more of fishing but wants a taste. It's also perfect for youngsters that might not have the attention span for the longer trips!  We will be fishing for Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel, Sheepshead, Grunts, Snook, Redfish, and Trout.

Want to stay inshore and fish some of the grass flats or mangrove shorelines? This is a great trip with ample fishing time where we fish in some of the local waters for speckled sea trout, red fish, snook, and a few other species that inhabit these shallower waters. 

Half Day - INSHORE (AM)

Our 4-hour trip is ideal for fishing inside Tampa Bay or sneaking out and hitting the closer nearshore reefs! Inside the bay, we would primarily be targeting Snapper, Grouper, Sheepshead, Snook, and Redfish! Sneaking offshore allows for a larger variety of fish to throw in the box including Hogfish, Grunts, Porgies, Spanish, and King Mackerel but you never really know what you might run into offshore!

Our most popular trip! 6 hours gives enough time to run offshore and get on different reef species! We typically spend these 6-hour trips between 5-9 miles offshore! On these trips you can expect to catch: Grouper, Snapper, Hogfish, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Jacks, Permit, Grunts, Porgies, and more depending on the time of year, The 6-hour trip allows for ample time to get on a hot bite offshore and enjoy the day on the water!

3/4 Day Trip – Offshore (AM)

Our all-day trip is ran off the coast of Anna Maria Island around the 9-10 mile mark, fishing different reefs and structure offshore. With 8 hours of fishing you never know what you'll run into, but primary targets are: Snapper, Grouper, Hogfish, Mackerel, Jacks, Permit, Tripletail, Amberjacks, Permit, and more depending on the time of the year! Bring Plenty of Sunscreen and drinks for this trip!!! 8 hours goes by faster than you think when you're having fun but this is the fisherman's trip!
