Want to catch the biggest fish in Fort Lauderdale? Look no further than “Big Game Sportfishing Charters”! Captain Rod Roydhouse has over 3 decades of experience in these waters and looks forward to showing novice and experienced anglers alike a great time fishing for some of Florida's finest. 

Hop aboard a 46’ Hatteras sport fishing boat, which can accommodate up to 6 guests. She has a large fishing cockpit with a big game fighting chair, a fully air-conditioned cabin with sofas, and upper deck flybridge where the captain steers the boat from. She also features the latest in tech including GPS, Fish Finder, outriggers, and downriggers.

Your target list is vast and depends on seasonality. Head down during the fall and winter and it’s all about Sailfish, one of the most sought after catches in South Florida. Come spring and summer you'll face off with hard-fighting Sharks including Hammerhead, Mako, Thresher, and Tiger.

A popular year-round catch is Swordfish. You’ll have to venture further offshore but it’s well worth the journey! Kingfish, Amberjack, and Barracuda also keep things interesting and make for consistent catches.

Capt. Rod provides all of the gear you need for a successful day including rods, reels, tackle, and live bait. Feel free to bring along any drinks and snacks you’d like to enjoy and store them in the freezing cold cooler. Lastly don’t forget your sun protection!

Head out for an afternoon of fishing with other passionate anglers on this half day shared trip! You'll go live baiting and shipwreck fishing for the likes of Sailfish, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Barracuda, Sharks, and Amberjack. Your targets and techniques vary depending on what's biting best that day. Capt. Rod brings along all of the gear you need so all you need to pack are any drinks and snacks you'd like to enjoy.

4 Hour Trip (PM) – Shared

Head out for 4 hours of epic morning fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale! You'll do a combination of trolling, live baiting and shipwreck fishing for the likes of Kingfish, Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Sharks. Let Capt. Rod know what you're after and he'll get you on it! No need to worry about gear or bait either – he brings along everything you need for a successful day.

4 Hour Trip (AM)

Head out for 4 hours of big game Shark fishing in Fort Lauderdale! With the warm Gulfstream waters just a mile offshore, one of the most epic Shark fisheries around is at your fingertips. You'll make good use of the fighting chair to reel in the likes of Hammerhead, Mako, Thresher, Bull, and Tiger Sharks. Capt. Rod provides all the fishing gear and live bait you need to hook into the catch of a lifetime!

4 Hour Trip – Shark Fishing

There's nothing quite like a full day on the waters surrounding Fort Lauderdale! Your target list is vast and includes the likes of Kingfish, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Sharks, and Amberjack. Let Capt. Rod know what your dream catch is and he'll let you know what technique is best! He also brings along all of the live bait and gear you need for a successful day. All you'll want to pack are enough drinks and snacks to keep you going.
