Welcome aboard!

King Tide Charters provides a first-class, fully guided fishing experience, departing from our private dock in Sooke BC,  a stone’s throw away from the productive Salmon and Halibut fishing grounds of the Juan de Fuca Strait.

Cruise the Juan in style aboard our custom 22’ Boston Whaler Outrage, featuring top-of-the-line power, and premium fishing equipment, guided by Captain Andrew, a seasoned professional with a passion for fishing.

Take in the breathtaking scenery and stunning west coast views, while exploring the waters of legendary Sooke fishing hot spots like Otter Point, Secretary Island, Trap Shack, and many more.

We are blessed to have all five Pacific Salmon species in our waters throughout the season. On our trips, we can target prized Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho (Silver) Salmon and Pink Salmon  

The action doesn’t stop there!  With a thriving bottom fishery on our doorstep, guests have the opportunity to book a specialized trip, including full day fishing for monster Halibut, Lingcod, and Rockfish. The local Sooke Halibut record is 328 lbs!!

Crabbing is also excellent and it is not uncommon to pull up our traps full of large Dungeness Crabs, on the way back to the dock!

We expertly clean and filet your catch back at the dock, so you can take home your fresh harvest with ease.

Whether you’re an expert rod or brand new to the sport, King Tide Charters provides an enjoyable, and rewarding experience on the water for all types of anglers.

Before the day of your fishing trip, please ensure all anglers have purchased a recreational tidal angling license for the pacific region and add the salmon conservation stamp. Licences are available online through the DFO’s rec licensing website.

Take advantage of the short run (under 10 minutes) from our dock and spend the evening salmon fishing. We'll be fishing for Chinook (kings) and Coho (silvers) among other Salmon species within season. Dropping in at  legendary Sooke fishing hotspots from Secretary Island to Otter Point, with the setting sun in the background. This trip is a must for incredible sunset views alone, not to mention the dusk bite!

Enjoy the afternoon fishing for Salmon and exploring legendary Sooke Salmon fishing hotspots. From Otter Point, Sooke Bluffs, Secretary Island, Trap Shack  and more. 

Take in the stunning views, and be ready to grab the rod and hold on, when your Captain yells "FISH ON!!!!!"  

Under a 10-minute cruise from our dock to the fishing grounds, your time will be spent effectively fishing for Salmon.

Enjoy the morning, effectively fishing for Salmon! Be sure to take in the stunning views on the way to one of the many legendary Sooke Salmon  fishing hotspots, all within a short 10 minute commute from our dock.

Salmon - Half Day AM

Experience everything the Sooke Salmon fishery has to offer. Spend the day trolling epic landscapes and fighting large Chinook (Kings) and Coho (silvers) Salmon as well as Pinks and Chum when in season. 

Drop in just after first light and fish the tides at the legendary Sooke Salmon hotspots from Secretary Island, Beechy Head, Otter Point, Trap Shack, and many more.

Salmon - Full Day

Spend the day trolling for Salmon and bottom fishing for giant Lingcod, Halibut, and Rockfish. 

This trip pushes off just after sunrise with only a short run to the fishing grounds. We'll capitalize on the first light bite and have the opportunity to fish multiple tides and target multiple species, throughout the day. 

We'll also be dropping our crab traps on the way out, letting them soak full of bait for Dungeoness crab, while we're out fishing.
