King Tide Charters delivers a first-class, fully guided fishing experience, departing from our private dock in Sooke, British Columbia—just minutes from the highly productive salmon and halibut grounds of the Juan de Fuca Strait.
Cruise the Juan in comfort and style aboard our custom 22' Boston Whaler Outrage, powered by top-of-the-line power and outfitted with premium electronics and fishing equipment. Your trip is led by seasoned professional guides with deep local knowledge and a genuine passion for west coast Salmon and Halibut fishing.
Take in breathtaking scenery and experience the iconic Vancouver Island coastline as exploring legendary Sooke fishing hot spots from Otter Point, Secretary Island, Trap Shack, and many more!
We are fortunate to have all five Pacific salmon species in our waters throughout the season. On our trips, we commonly target:
-Chinook (King) Salmon
-Coho (Silver) Salmon
-Pink Salmon
The action doesn't stop there. With a thriving bottom fishery right on our doorstep, guests can book specialized trips targeting:
-Monster Halibut
-Lingcod
-Rockfish

Crabbing is excellent in our area and we generally pull our crab traps up full of large Dungeness and Red Rock Crab adding to the bounty.

I worked as a long range sport fishing captain for 10 years as a much younger man. Now that I’m retired it’s nice to book a charter with a professional service. My wife and I fished with Shane and he was great. I would describe him as an up a coming young captain. He’s a professional. He’s friendly and communicates well. He has a high degree of skill for a young man. He works hard and fishes hard. My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon. Highly recommend.

Can't recommend King Tide Charters enough! Captain Shane took us out for a 3 hour evening salmon trip and worked hard to get us on a great Chinook! Shane and Andrew are great guys, informative, friendly, and dialed in on the fishing. We had plenty of crab to take home as well. They operate from a private dock which made the process so smooth. If you are in the Sooke area and looking to get on the water for some fishing these are the guys to go with!

Fought a pair of massive Chinook on our honeymoon!

My wife and I went out with Captain Shane, and had an amazing time. We each caught a chinook salmon over 20lbs and caught some smaller coho, and an army of crabs to cook up for dinner! Going into fishing, my wife said she never would have booked it, but now she will tell you it was her favorite part of the honeymoon! Thank you so much Shane & Andrew!
