Your Fishing Charter

If you're chasing a no-stress California fishing day that feels more like an off-the-grid hangout than a rigid tour- this is your kind of adventure. You'll meet Captain Greg and his First Mate at Oceanside Harbor, climb aboard a well-kept 38-foot Bertram (perfect for six), and let the ocean do the rest. Outriggers, large live bait tank, an enclosed flybridge, and a private head=all the creature comforts without losing the salty edge.

We chase down halibut (the distinctly California kind that squirm above the sand), red rock cod (that eye-catching vermillion rockfish), sheepshead, barracuda, bonito, lingcod-and at the right time, yellowtail, mahi-mahi, skipjack, and tuna show up to the party. No need to haul your own rod-you'll get hooked up with everything you need: rods, tackle, live bait, and crew who'll show you the ropes. Kids are wholeheartedly welcomed, and there's child-sized life vests on board. 

Here's the lowdown before you go:
• If you're 16 or older, you'll need a California fishing license. A one-day license is just $20.26, online via the official CDFW site or app-perfect for day-trippers or those flying in. The digital license app lets you go paperless in seconds. 
•Pack sunglasses, a hat, non-spray sunscreen, and a jacket or sweatshirt. 
•Cold waters, sodas, chips, cookies and other packaged snacks are on deck, but feel free to bring your own food or small cooler. Alcohol's cool- stick to cans please. 

Once you're on board, the vibe stays mellow- lines in the water, sun on your face, and laughs when someone hooks into a feisty fish. No rigid tour script. Help wherever and whenever you need it. Here's the real kicker- this charter is private, for up to six, so you're not fighting for deck space, or dealing with crowds.
