Your private charter begins in Oceanside Harbor, where Captain Greg and his First Mate welcome you aboard a beautifully maintained 38-foot Bertram. With space for up to 6 guests, the vessel features outriggers, a large live bait tank, an enclosed flybridge, and a private head-combining modern amenities with the charm of a classic California fishing experience.
As you head offshore, you'll explore waters known for an impressive variety of species. Halibut glide along the sandy bottom, vibrant red rock fish add a splash of color, and sheepshead, calico bass, bonito, and lingcod keep the action lively. During the right seasons, yellowtail, skipjack, mahi-mahi, and tuna make their appearance, offering exciting opportunities for memorable catches. All gear is provided, including rods, tackle, and live bait, and the crew is always ready to assist. Families are warmly welcomed, and child-sized life vests are available on board.
Before departing, guests aged 16 and older will need a CA fishing license. The 1-day license is just $21.09 and can be purchased though the official CDFW website, which offers a convenient digital option. For comfort, bring sunglasses, a hat, nom-spray sunscreen, and a jacket or sweatshirt. Complimentary cold water, sodas, coffee, and packaged light snacks are available. You're welcome to bring your own food or a small cooler. Alcohol is permitted-but, please, no glass.

Captain Greg and First Officer Mike showed us a great time, with good fishing and a really family-friendly experience. There were 6 of us, including 4 adults and 2 young children, son 10 and daughter 5 1/2. The crew were very attentive to our needs, helped us with everything. We had an afternoon 4-hour trip planned, but they were very flexible and we had so much fun we upgraded to a 6-hour tour which included a mini side excursion to go see some dolphins. The boat was really nice, and perfectly comfortable with lots of room and everything we needed. We all want to do it again. Thanks so much to Greg and Mike!

Great skipper and deckhand. Made the whole day fun, lighthearted and successful. Thanks to them we got a 25lb yellowtail within 45 mins of leaving dock, which is really rare for Oceanside. Great guys and great knowledge of the area.

Entire crew was very knowledgeable and had tons of experience. Captain made sure we kept moving in order to guarantee good catches and gave us some extra time. Saw some bonus sea lions, dolphins, and a whale surfacing. Lots of snacks and drinks available and a nice cozy couch in case your stomach starts yearning for solid ground. Our only regret is not booking more time.

Not the day we hoped for but still a great one. We opted for offshore, which is never guaranteed. Captain Greg and his crew worked hard to put us on fish, but we just couldn't land any. A couple whales and dozens if not hundreds of dolphins kept us entertained. He let us extend the day to give us a better chance then took us inshore and extended the trip longer until we reeled in a couple bass and nearly a nice halibut too (sucker bit the line as we were pulling it into the boat). A good time even without reeling a pelagic!

Such a great experience and limited on our fish count. Captain Greg and crew were super knowledgeable and such a pleasant crew to spend time with. Would recommend and note to bring Dramamine if you get sea sick.
