Spend the day with CNR Charters and find out what the fishing in Milwaukee is all about!.

Depending on conditions and time of year, you might hook into Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Coho Salmon, Lake Trout. On these trips, you can expect to troll using light tackle. 

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so notify the captain if children are coming out on the water.

Capt. Jordan runs a 18' Alumacraft aluminum fishing boat with capacity for 3 passengers. It comes with downriggers, rod trees, and all the trolling equipment needed for a productive day on the water.

Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is available online at WI GoWild. To fish Lake Michigan you need a general fishing license as well as a Great Lakes Stamp. 

It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. 

This is a charter for Lake Michigan. Much like the ocean, wind greatly affects the fishability of the lake. For safety reasons, if the waves are forecasted too large for the charter date, be advised rescheduling may be required. Often forecasting models can accurately let us know how fishable the lake will be 3-5 days in advance.

What to catch when:
March-April: mainly brown trout.
Early May: mainly coho salmon.
Late May-August: mainly coho and chinook salmon. 

Trips for morning salmon begin ~90minutes before sunrise to hit the predawn salmon bite. Later starts can be arranged if needed but be aware, the early bite is the best experience! While we fish out of a smaller boat, we often fill the cooler over 100lbs of fish!

Trips for mid-day salmon begin ~11am. While the hottest king salmon bite usually is early morning or late evening, there is often great mid-day action especially for coho! This time slot is great for those that don't want to wake up super early or stay out super late!

Launch out of McKinley Marina in Milwaukee and let’s chase some trout and salmon!

What to catch when:
Early May: mainly coho salmon.
Late May-August: mainly coho and chinook salmon. 

Once the sun starts to set late and the salmon get going good, what better way to spend after a day of work than get out on the water catching some salmon! This trip will leave the dock around 5pm and fish to dark.

Half Day Trip – Weekday (PM)

Lake Michigan is home to one of the worlds best brown trout and steelhead fisheries! Fall through Spring anglers can target and catch world class sized trout around the Milwaukee area. Depending on the day and conditions this trip can be either trolling on near shore reefs or jigging for these trout. Truly a one-of-a-kind winter fishery with chances at trout in excess of 20lbs!

Launch out of McKinley Marina in Milwaukee and let’s chase some trout and salmon!

What to catch when:
March-April: mainly brown trout.

Evening trips we will launch ~5 hours prior to sunset and fish through to dark, often ending the day strong with the great pre-dark salmon bite.
