A Live One is a Freeman Boatworks custom 29' center console. Freshly re-powered for 2025 with Yamaha 300 twin motors, and a full electronics console refresh, it has everything you need for a productive day on the water. It's the only Freeman fishing charter on HHI, a high performance catamaran hull with an unmatched ride. The wide layout of this boat is more akin to a 34' monohull in terms of space, and unquestionably more stable and smoother riding than boats in and above its class. Get there fast and comfortably, with more time to fish!

Backcountry/Inshore trips on A Live One are great for kids and very family-friendly! Child-sized life vests are provided, but feel free to bring your own if preferred. Coastal/Reef trips are age 13+ recommended, and Offshore Full Days are best for 16+. 6 Max Guests for most trips (4 for Offshore Full Days).

Inshore trips are catch-and-release fishing. Choose coastal/reef or offshore options if you're looking to bring home a meal. Contact us if ANY questions. Results greatly vary by season and trip type, and we want to make sure to match you with the best trip for your crew!

All fishing tackle provided. Live bait is often targeted by cast net to start the day, or fresh cut bait as available. Fully licensed charter boat, so no additional personal license is needed. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol ok in moderation; no hard liquor, no glass bottles, and no *wheeled* coolers.

Short trip for short attention spans. For those not yet ready for 'big kids' fishing, this is a great way to catch 'A Lɪᴠᴇ Oɴᴇ'! This is our shortest fishing charter, focused on fun and comfort for the youngest among you. It's a great intro to fishing and we'll likely see dolphins along the way.

IMPORTANT: Want a trip for older kids/teens/adults to actively participate in fishing? Then this is *NOT* the right choice. Try our 3hr Family Shark Adventure or other trips instead.

2 Hour – Junior Anglers - 10:15 AM

Our most popular outing for families, this is an inshore adventure targeting primarily sharks (although we do often catch other fish) and is tailored to the group on board. Other non-shark fish include Red Drum, Cobia, Whiting, Bluefish, and more. Catch and Release trip.

3 Hour Family Shark Adventure

3 Hour Family Shark Adventure - 10:30 AM

Half-day backcountry/inshore trip for all ages. Our inshore charters are catch and release, focused on fun and comfort.

Seasonally we see a variety of species like redfish, black drum, whiting, tarpon, jack crevalle, monster rays, sharks and more.

NOTE: During summer, *much* of the inshore action is sharks. Yes, we do target/catch other fish. Anglers looking to 'avoid sharks' should instead choose a longer Coastal Reef or Offshore trip, not this one.

4 Hour Trip – Backcountry Inshore

(MAX 5 people) Catch and release a 'Monster' Shark, focused on larger species including Bull, Tiger, Hammerhead, Lemon, Sandbar, and others. Also catching Barracuda, Cobia, King Mackerel, and bottom fish. Our focus is on fun, comfort, and adventure!

Age 13+ recommended (or ask us for a custom-tailored outing for your group).

MAX 5 people!

Usually Wednesdays, but other days on request.

5 Hour Trip – Monster Shark

(MAX 5 people) Our 5 hr trip offers opportunities to fish nearshore artificial reefs & wrecks (within ~20 mi range off the beach) where we encounter Spanish & King Mackerel, Barracuda, Cobia, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, False Albacore or other coastal fish.

Primary tactics are trolling, with occasional bottom fishing or casting when conditions are right.

Weather permitting. Ocean trips require cooperative seas! Inshore/Backcountry is an option for rough days.

MAX 5 people

5 Hour Trip – Coastal Reef & Wreck

(MAX 5 people) Our 6 hr trip offers opportunities to fish nearshore artificial reefs & wrecks (within ~25 mi range off the beach) where we encounter Spanish & King Mackerel, Barracuda, Cobia, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, False Albacore or other coastal fish.

Primary tactics are trolling, with occasional bottom fishing or casting when conditions are right.

Weather permitting. Ocean trips require cooperative seas! Inshore/Backcountry is an option for rough days.

6 Hour Trip – Coastal Reef & Wreck

(MAX 4 people) Take advantage of South Carolina's 2026 Red Snapper season, July 1 - Aug 31. (UPDATE May 25: Court injunction has temporarily closed this Red Snapper harvest... we will target other species if so. Hoping they re-open as planned!)

We'll run in the 25-50mi range offshore in search of Red Snapper, Cobia, and more.

Weather permitting. Ocean trips require cooperative seas! Inshore/Backcountry is an option for rough days.

MAX 4 people!

7 Hour Trip – Red Snapper & Cobia

(MAX 4 people) This trip greatly expands our opportunity to fish further offshore, in the 25-50 mile range off the beach, with more diverse species, and a high potential for harvesting something to eat. If that's a critical part of your plan, then this full day trip is the best option.

Primary tactics are trolling and bottom fishing, jigging or casting when conditions are right.

Weather permitting. Ocean trips require cooperative seas!
