Absolutely beautiful weather is here and insane fishing. Captain Drew Cavanaugh, welcomes you to Florida Inshore Fishing Charters! He runs fishing trips full time in New Smyrna Beach and Oak Hill backcountry, Ponce Inlet nearshore, Port Canaveral nearshore, Daytona, and Orlando saltwater flats year-round. Capt. Drew has been fishing in the area since 1980, so there’s hardly a spot he doesn’t know of. He equally accommodates both novices, kids and experienced anglers, so there’s something for everyone.

Join Capt. Drew on his 21-foot Pathfinder Bay boat that accommodates up to 6 anglers/passengers at certain times, please be sure to ask about this in advance if you have more than 4 going due to certain restrictions by law. This bay boat is powered by a new 150 HP Yamaha engine and equipped with GPS, VHF radio and more.

Since Capt. Drew specializes in backcountry fishing and nearshore reef fishing you’ll mainly go after fish using light spin/fly tackle. Targeted species are for Tarpon, Snappers, Redfish, Pompano, Whiting, Jacks, Lady Fish, Cobia, Snapper, Tripletail, Snook, Trout, and Drum. At times we clean fish, restrictions apply.

Capt. Drew will fully cover your saltwater fishing licenses and equipment, and he usually prepares live bait in advance. He can also bring fly fishing equipment for you, just make sure to mention this in advance. There’s going to be fresh new bottled water on the boat but you can always bring other beverages you prefer and your snacks. Just no glass please.

Florida Inshore Fishing Charters is a family-friendly charter, so bring your kids. 

Located just east of Orlando, Disney, Kissimmee by 45 minutes in the Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, Ormond Beach and New Smyrna Beach areas.

I use a few different ramps in the area. This depends on where we are catching most of the targeted fish you want and gets us closer to them. We will know the address to meet at a few days before your trip as well as start times. They tend to change daily.

Our 1-plus hour micro trip is the perfect trip all around for all ages. This is a fast get out and fish quick for one hour. Targeted fish vary due to time restrictions. Normally we stay inshore backcountry. This is a perfect trip to learn how to fish and launch a boat. Be sure to ask about options.

Light tackle inshore or nearshore depends on weather. Backcountry flats fishing and inshore fishing for redfish, snook, trout, black drum, tarpon, sharks and so much more. Start times and meeting locations vary.

6 Hour Day Trip

If you want to use your time to the max, join Capt. Drew on a full day trip! You'll go after Tarpon, Snapper, Trout, Snook, Jack, and more. Visit nearshore fishing spots and you may encounter Cobia, Shark, and Barracuda. Your fishing equipment is fully covered. Starting times vary and so does the locations we will be meeting at.
