The Great Escape II welcomes you to the emerald waters of Destin—one of the most productive fisheries in the Gulf. These waters are home to an exciting variety of offshore species including King Mackerel, Red Snapper, Wahoo, Gag Grouper, Shark, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Scamp Grouper, and more depending on the season and conditions. Your trip may include trolling, bottom fishing, or a combination of both using light or heavy tackle depending on what’s biting that day.
Trips aboard Great Escape II are ideal for both experienced anglers looking for serious offshore fishing and beginners who want a comfortable, guided introduction to Gulf of Mexico fishing.
Your adventure takes place aboard the Great Escape II, a beautiful 58-ft Chris-Craft Convertible sportfishing yacht designed for serious offshore performance while offering exceptional comfort for guests. The vessel accommodates up to six passengers and is fully equipped with premium rods, reels, tackle, downriggers, and modern fish-finding electronics to give you every advantage on the water. For added comfort, the boat features a clean onboard restroom.
Fishing aboard Great Escape II is about more than just catching fish—it’s about experiencing the Gulf the way seasoned local fishermen do. With decades of experience fishing these waters, your captain works hard to put you on productive grounds and create a trip that’s exciting for both experienced anglers and first-time fishermen alike.
A professional First Mate will assist throughout the trip by preparing tackle, baiting hooks, clearing lines, and helping land your catch. Mates work primarily for tips, and it is customary to offer 15–20% based on your experience.
Your fishing license is included, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure. Regulations for certain species change throughout the year, and your captain will guide you on what’s currently in season.

The Great Escape II

The 6-hour trip allows us to run farther offshore and spend more time fishing productive bottom structure. We’ll usually troll while traveling to and from the fishing grounds, then focus on bottom fishing for species such as Snapper and Grouper depending on the season. When conditions allow, we may also catch and fish with live bait, which can attract larger fish.

This fast-paced nearshore trip focuses primarily on trolling for King Mackerel and other pelagic species that cruise the bait schools just off the Destin coast. We'll cover water looking for active fish and keeping the rods bent. If the trolling bite slows, we may stop briefly to bottom fish nearby structure. This is a great trip for families, beginners, or anyone looking for a fun introduction to offshore fishing without spending a full day on the water.

Once we reach the fishing grounds, we’ll anchor or drift and fish dead bait on productive bottom structure depending on what species are in season. This trip offers a great balance of trolling and bottom fishing.

This trip gives us the flexibility to fish a variety of productive offshore areas depending on conditions and what species are biting. We'll typically troll while running offshore and then spend most of the trip bottom fishing reefs and structure for Snapper, Grouper, and other seasonal species. With the extra time on the water, we can work multiple spots and adjust techniques to give you the best chance at quality fish.

7 Hour – Offshore Fishing

Our most popular trip and the perfect balance of travel time and fishing time. The 8-hour trip allows us to fish multiple offshore spots and target a wider variety of species. We typically troll while running offshore, then spend the majority of the trip bottom fishing productive reefs and structure. Live bait may also be used when available to target larger fish.

8 hr

This extended trip allows us to reach deeper offshore waters and less pressured fishing grounds. We'll troll while traveling to the fishing grounds and spend extended time bottom fishing and live bait fishing depending on what's in season. With more time on the water, we can work multiple productive areas and increase your chances at quality offshore fish.

10 Hour Trip

The 12-hour trip is the ultimate offshore experience aboard Great Escape II. With plenty of time to travel and fish, we can explore some of the most productive offshore areas in the region. We typically troll on the run offshore, then spend the majority of the day bottom fishing and live bait fishing depending on the conditions and species in season. This trip offers the best opportunity to target a wide variety of Gulf fish.
