If you’re in the market for a day to remember, look no further than Open Water Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Brett, offering years of sportfishing experience.

Around here the fishing is popular for Fluke, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Striped Bass, Scup (Porgy), Tautog, Red Hake, Shark and more if you come at the right time of year. On the day of your trip you’re likely to drift fish using heavy tackle. Light tackle would be available when fishing inshore.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!

You’ll be fishing aboard a 32’ Albermarle sportfishing boat that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 15% - 20% tip is customary.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

It’s never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray) and a small cooler with drinks and snacks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our 6-hour trip offers the flexibility to fish different tide periods, target a variety of species, and reach some of our preferred fishing spots that are beyond the range of our shorter trips. With the extra time on the water, this trip provides a well-rounded experience and the opportunity to maximize your fishing potential.

Sweet Spot - 6 Hour Trip

This 8-hour trip puts the productive waters off Montauk well within reach of our port. Departing from Shinnecock Inlet, we head east to Montauk to target monster ocean fluke and sea bass. Fishing typically consists of drifting deep-water structure with large strip baits, giving anglers the opportunity to connect with true trophy-class fish.

Montauk Fluke - 8 hrs

This trip is good for those seeking the thrill of hooking up with fish at the top of the food chain on the ocean. We venture up to 25 miles offshore with the heavy gear ready for battle. For the best experience on this trip we recommend between 3-4 passengers.
