Running angling trips out of Southport / oak island, Seabbatical Charters invites you to check out the local fishery in style.

Your captain is here to get you on some fish, and to make sure you have fun doing it. You'll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, handline, jigging, and spinning, depending on what you're going after. As part of their 3 to 12-hour trips, you can target species like Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Shark, depending on the current season and weather conditions.

Your adventure begins on board a custom built Palmetto 33.  The boat is fitted with a toilet, ice boxes, shade, and comfortable seating. All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.

You'll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip. There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated. You'll find free drinks on the boat for your convenience, but you're always welcome to pack your own drinks and snacks should you want to.

Children are welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.

Excellent for little kids, those looking for more of a tour, or a short shark fishing trip.

While we do some shark fishing on just about every trip, this trip focuses only on sharks.  Departure time is flexible, but we will advise for a sunrise time for best success.

This is a great little 3-hour trip. We will see dolphins, troll for Spanish Mackerel, and tango with a Shark.  It's good for a group that wants to do a short fun trip or for a family with kids they want to introduce to fishing.   In the fall this can be a fun trip for bull red drum.

A great way to start ocean fishing. We will troll the beach for tasty Spanish Mackerel, tango with a few big Sharks, and look for dolphins.
