Captain John Troutman has been a captain since 2005, but he's been fishing his whole life! The first captain license he obtained was from the Government of Japan. He moved to Hawaii in 2018, and transferred his license to become a US Coast Guard certified captain. A love for the water transferred over into his work life, too – he retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 27 years of honorable service, primarily in the Pacific where he served 20 years on Okinawa. His favorite thing about running charters is to watch his customers catch fish. Capt. John considers Hawaii to be one of the best places in the world to chase and catch Marlin, Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna. Even better, Hawaii is the most beautiful place to do it in! He can't wait to have you on board to discover this thrill of a lifetime for yourself.

Awesome trip!
My son and I had a great time with Gabe and Tino! My son caught a 43 pound Mahi Mahi! We did not land another fish, but these guys really worked hard to get us fish by changing lures, using live bait at times, and always circling back if needed when there was a strike. These guys really know what they are doing and were super nice and fun guys. It really made it so my son and I had a great time!

“Five Stars”
Truly a “Five Star” experience! We booked a full day trip on Ruckus. Captain Ruben/Crew were professional, experienced, and they “went the extra mile” to ensure we had an amazing trip. While there was no guarantee, the guys at Five Star Sportfishing were able to put us on and land several large gorgeous Mahi-mahi. The customer service was outstanding and fishing was sensational. If you are looking to have an experience of a lifetime, give the guys at Five Star Sportfishing a call.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 1 day before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
