We got the 3/4 day trip. Ruben was the Captain and Gabe was the first mate. We didn’t have much interaction with Ruben because he was piloting the boat. But Gabe was on the deck with us and was very pleasant. He was accommodating to our needs, friendly, and excited about fishing. He also gave some recommendations about local establishments to check out. My wife was sick most of the trip and my son and I did most of the fishing. We each caught one Mahi Mahi and my son was lucky enough yo be in the chair to real in a Blue Marlin. Although it would have been fun to catch more fish, catching a marlin is a once in a lifetime experience and made the trip. We kept half of one of the Mahi Mahi to cook for dinner. The crew kept the rest and I believe they were going to take it to auction or donate it to the residents impacted by the floods on the north side of the island. We were a little bummed to not get to try the marlin but it made sense that they didn’t want to cut it open just for a couple of steaks. We would recommend 5 Star Fishing for others to go on a fishing charter with.

We booked a full day trip months before our vacation. Weather almost canceled it for us but luckily a spot was open 2 days before our pre planned date and we were asked if we wanted to take it. Im super happy we did because it ended up being a great day! It wasnt very long before we had a blue Marlin strike the bait twice. We couldn’t get a full hook up but it was still cool to see him jump. We soon got into the mahi mahi and ended up with 8 of them, almost all of them being over 50 inches. We spotted a short bill spearfish but it spooked without taking the bait. The last and 9th fish was a roughly 20-23 lb skipjack tuna.  Gabe and Tino are very experienced and knowledgeable.  They put in the work for sure and explain every aspect of what their doing and why. They are exactly who you want to go with!

went out with Valentino and Gabriel. We are a family of sports enthusiast, but never been fishing till today. These guys made it a farm and memorable experience. Everyone caught one fish and we were even fortunate enough to catch the elusive Marlin. even if he had only caught one fish, I would still highly recommend. Equipment was solid and safe. Crew is very knowledgeable went above and beyond to make sure we had fun. Can’t recommend enough!

Only a 4hr private trip for 3 of us, but what a great experience !
Early start (0545 at dock), a bit of a briefing from Captain Dallas and off into the pre-dawn light.
A quick stop to catch some live bait and then out to something like 12 miles off the coast trolling all the way.
The crew explained all the gear / techniques to us during the trip out.
During the trip out and once out there Captain Dallas was always on the lookout for signs of fish and he really did find some.
We caught almost the largest Skipjack Tuna they’ve seen (the biggest one is hanging in the cabin of the boat), then a while later a Mahi Mahi that they said was one of the 4 biggest they’d ever caught (40lbs) and then another Mahi Mahi almost as big.
Captain Dallas and Mate Tino were great to be out there with and really know what they’re doing and were super informative.
It was a Five Star Catch on a Five Star Day with a Five Star team.
Would highly recommend and we’d go with them again in a heartbeat.

Run dont walk to Five Star Fiahing!!  we did a trip yesterday with Gabe and Tino. Not only is this a skilled crew but they worked seamlessly together with the joint mission to get us all to catch fish. We are a family of 5 and these guys helped us catch an 87” Marlen and 5 Mahi Mahi. They were both great with our 3 teenage boys and were so excited to each of them catch fish. Gabe, captain, sailed our boat with binoculars by his side always looking for birds and helping our youngest reel in the biggest fish of his life!  Thank uou again to this team for making this Hawaiian vaction one to remember!
