The backwaters of the North Keys truly are a stunning place, not just because of the nature but for the potential catches as well. Your captain and guide for the day is Andrew Atwill. He was born and raised on the Keys and knows the flats and reef like the back of his hand.

He’ll take you out on his 24ft pathfinder, the best boat for this environment. It was originally built in 2014 and brand new 2023 Yamaha 300 four stroke . It's got some pace to it too. It can go up to 60 knots so you can dash over to Andrews's favorite fishing grounds in no time at all. It features a raised fishing platform on the bow giving you plenty of space from where you can spy your targets.

There are a great variety of saltwater fish that call the flats and reef  of the Keys home. Jack Crevalle, Redfish, Tarpon, Sheepshead, and Mangrove Snapper are all common catches on Andrews's trips. Trolling, bottom fishing, and even spearfishing are the approaches Andrew takes. Unsure of anything? Don't be afraid to ask!

He will provide you with good quality Penn fishing tackle on his trips from which you'll attach the live bait that he will provide for you. With all the great game catches you can pull in, it would be a great shame if you don't know how to clean and fillet them, so he'll sort that for you. Your Florida fishing license is also included in the price for these trips so there's no need to have a concern about that.

He has some water on board so take something sweeter if you wish as well as some snacks if you book a longer trip. Although a lot of the terrain is shaded here it's still best to come prepared for the sun and hot weather. For a great day of unique flat fishing, you need not look further than Local Grown Charters!

On this half day trip, Andrew will take you over to the Everglades National Park or patch reef for a tremendous morning of fishing. When you're out with Andrew you can expect to catch the likes of Snappers of all kinds groupers, mackerel, Snook, Tarpon, Speckled Trout, Jack Crevalle,  Redfish, Great Barracuda, and other local species.

4 Hour Trip

Not only will you witness a fantastic sunset but you'll have the chance to perhaps reel in a few more fish as they come out to hunt at dusk when the glaring sun has made its way over the horizon. Patch Reef / Everglades. Head out to the Patch Reef through the clear Keys waters to catch a variety of reef fish. Or, head out back to the Everglades which is always an adventure, you never know what you will see while you're fishing!

4 Hour Trip – Sunset/Night Trip

Although the species are numerous on the saltwater flats of the Keys, perhaps the best catch is a Tarpon. Tarpon are truly one of the most thrilling catches a fisherman can have. Not only are they huge in size and weight, but they put up a terrific fight. If you're after a new fishing challenge, then you've found it.

Patch Reef / Everglades. Head out to the Patch Reef through the clear Keys waters to catch a variety of reef fish. Or, head out back to the Everglades which is always an adventure, you never know what you will see while you're fishing!

3/4 Day Trip

Looking to catch your trophy fish? This is your trip! We will go after Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Sailfish, Wahoo, Kingfish, large Barracuda, and many other species.

6 Hour Trip – Offshore

For those who love to get on the fish and want to explore a new, unique environment, you have come to the right place. You can't head to the Keys without going fishing, whether it be on the open ocean or on the flats of the Everglades there's something for everyone. This full day trip will provide you with an experience you won't shut up about for months!
