Hello, I am USCG licensed Capt. Chris Lantz. A seasoned guide, life long fisherman, outdoorsman, father and husband. My resume is lenghty, spanning Panama City, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Indiana Pass and Apalachicola. Few know the waters of St. Joe Bay like I do, and even fewer care about preserving it for the future like me. Saltwater is my passion, and what keeps my never-ending drive going. 4 Hour Fishing + 4 Hour Excursion • 4 adultsChris was a wonderful captain. He was personable and knowledgeable about not just the area's good fishing spots, but the local wildlife as well. He was patient with some of our group's inexperience fishing and helped wherever needed. We saw sea turtles, a hammerhead shark eating, and a whole school of rays with pointed fins that almost looked like birds as they swam under us. He took us to a fun spot to hunt for sea shells, and we spent plenty of time in the water swimming to beat the heat. The highlight of the trip was when he lifted the boat's motor a bit to form a large wake and dolphins swam and jumped through it, following along with us like it was a carnival ride. I highly recommend Chris as a captain if you are looking for a fun day-long trip in the cape. Thoughwe did not catch fish, I think it was beause it was one of the hottest days of the summer, and the fish were either in cooler, deeper water or too lazy to bite. Our group got tired and wanted to head back a bit early too, through Chris would have been happy to stay out and try additional spots with us. It was just not great weather to catch fish, so we didn't have much luck.

Half Day Fishing – (4 MAX) • 3 adults • 1 childCaptain Chris was amazing! It was my son’s first time going out on a trip like this, and he had an absolute blast. We caught mangrove snapper and speckled trout, which made the experience even more exciting for him. The trip was not only a lot of fun, but also very educational — my son learned so much along the way. Captain Chris was personable, great with communication, and kept us updated the day before and the morning of the trip due to weather conditions. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend him to both families and adult groups!

Half Day Fishing – (4 MAX) • 3 adultsI am sure I will miss something about all Captain Chris did for us to be so accommodating for this trip. This was a gift to my spouse and grown children and they had a great time. The day they were supposed to go was a bad weather day. Captain Chris reached out to me to let me know and to see if there was another day they could go. He did a lot of juggling to get them in at the absolute best weather day. He is extremely easy to work with. My party had nothing but praises for him. Even though it was not a good fishing day (but they still caught some fish) the trip was great. One of the guys told me that they assumed they would be fishing in the ocean instead of the river/bay. They said they are glad they did not know that, because they would have missed out on the great experience they had with Captain Chris. There is no way I can write every way he accommodated this trip from booking, rescheduling, making sure the trip was great in every way such as stated above, but he also was also flexible on where they met and fished due to red tide keeping from them from the going on the normal route. This is trip was a minimum of 4 guests, so it was very focused on my guys. If you are looking for a great time fishing that money can buy, this is it.

Half Day Fishing – (4 MAX) • 2 adultsMy wife and I started the mornign by meeting up with Chris at the boat dock, super easy to find and then off we went! We did the 4hr morning trip and had plenty of time to fish several different spots with different bait setups as well as tsrfrting different speces of fish. Conditions wete great but the fish were a little slow to hit our rigs. That didnt stop Chris from trying different spots, different lure setups, and even checking in with others on the water to see if we could find the sweet spot! We had a blast and would for sure book with him again!

Bite was good to begin with on the redfish the the wind oicked so we swapped to trolling for spanish and caught a few. Chris was grest with kids and was dun to talk to when the bite slowed down.Great trip woukd recommend for anyone looking for a family fun fishing trip we will definitely be booking again

As I typing this, I'm sitting at home after having to cancel a charter due to high winds, causing unsafe conditions. So i feel it necessary to address this... Sometimes the weather just doesn't work out and we are forced to either cancel, or move your charter to the next available spot, if there is one. Please, PLEASE defer to your captains judgment when it comes to this decision. Safety on the water is the most important thing. There is no fish worth risking anyones safety for, and if your captain is saying it's unsafe to go fishing, he means it. We do not want to or like to have to cancel a charter. This is our living, our paycheck. But money does not or ever will come before safety. On top of that, its about your experience on the water. Poor conditions don't make for a good time and makes it more difficult for your captain to put you on the fish. So please, defer to our judment for your safety, and PLEASE do not get mad at your captain for making the decision to cancel. We work very hard to insure a good experience for you. Spring is here, and so are the specks!

Well, it's spring time! The inshore bite is heating up and getting better every day! While this has been a tough start to spring due to weekly cold fronts and high winds, the trout bite has managed to turn on and be great! Trout are thick in the grass flats and aren't hesitating to hit an artificial lure. This type of fishing is very exciting and truly an accomplishment when you fool a big trout into snatching your lure. Anyone can do it! Book a trip with us today and let's go make some memories!

The fishing this time of year can be really good as most fish make their way into canals and brackish creeks where water is warmer and food is plentiful. Redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, and pompano are plentiful this time of year and usually easy to catch! Fall is upon us!

The summer heat is finally taking a step back, and the water temps are dropping! This time of year always gets me excited. The fish are transitioning from their summer patterns to their fall patterns, making them more hungry and way more active! Trout and Redfish are showing up in 2-3 feet of water in the grass and sand patches, but are still hanging near channels. As the water drops, they will make their way over the grass and stay there until mid-late fall. This is one of the best times of the year to fish and certainly one of the most exciting! The cool morning air makes for some very comfortable fishing time, and a much more enjoyable experience. The bite is much more productive and easier. Trout and Redfish are hitting artificial lures just as well as live bait, but one or the other can be more productive some days. Book your trip now for some exiting fishing! Thank you!
