We caught so many fish that the local crab traps filed a formal complaint for overfishing their bait. Rods were bent, drags were screaming, and at one point, we were catching fish while unhooking other fish. I had to double-check we weren’t in a Bass Pro Shops simulator. - Captain Austin

Couples Fishing Report: Love was in the air—and so was the smell of bait. Our lovely couple today reeled in memories, a few solid fish, and only one minor argument about who hooked the biggest one (we’ll let the photos decide). He said he taught her everything she knows… right before she out-fished him 3 to 1. Romance level: high. Competition level: higher. Fish count: plenty. Fishing Report: The fish were biting so good today, I thought about charging them a rod fee. One redfish practically jumped in the boat just to say hello and file a noise complaint. The only thing hitting harder than the trout was my client’s sandwich hitting the deck. 10/10 day—fish were caught, jokes were made, sunscreen was forgotten. - Captain Austin

Slot fish are everywhere. Overslot fish? Oh yeah, we’ve seen a few that look like they skipped leg day at the gym and just worked on growing a forehead you could screen a movie on. Best bait? Whatever you throw at them—cut bait, live bait, even that weird rubber chicken I found in the bottom of the tackle box. (Kidding... mostly.) - Captain Austin

Arrived at 8:00 am and the boat was already waiting. Captain Austin gave us a quick safety briefing and off we went. The captain was very knowledgeable of the area and put us on the fish within 30 minutes. When we got anchored he went over where to cast and where not to cast due to the many oyster beds around us. Experiencing a fishing trip with Captain Austin was awesome and very memorable! He was at the dock early and ready to go when we arrived and had everything we needed for a great day of fishing. His expert knowledge of the area kept us on active fishing zones for the vast majority of the day. He also provided excellent instructions on how to use the fishing poles and kept fresh bait on our hooks for the entire trip. This was our first fishing charter experience and Captain Austin made it so easy and eventful. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, migration patterns of different fish species, and came with tons of tips and tricks for these newbies. I’ve already recommended Captain Austin to a few friends and we’ll definitely do this again! And remember ladies, you too, can out-fish your husband. 😇
