2/19 met Roland Bell at the dock, 8 am overcast ,51F river stained from two days of rain. Add 9,10 ,16yo that want to catch. He got us out of wind on backwatèr . Started catching small red drum but the boys had a blast. They were catching . He worked really well with the boys impressed grandpa. They wanted fish for tacos but inlet to jetties to rough. His call was right . Plan B gave ús fillets from yellow mouth trout. So boys had fish tacos for dinner, fish was perfect. Ya considering water condition definitely a win . Will keep his card for future use, thanks Roland.

I purchased a 3/4 day fishing trip with Roland Bell for my two nephews.  I was hopeful to create a day of experiences with the boys.  I chose Roland based on his reviews and availability.  Roland was a fortunate choice for our fishing excursion.  Roland was a natural as he navigated the waters of the St. John’s River.  Based on time of year, and weather, he understood where the fish could be found and what species of fish were available in the cooler months of December.  Roland was personable, engaging, and had a fun personality.  He made us feel like we were friends out for a day on the water.  We caught over 30 fish - it was a smashing SUCCESS.  We were catching fish after fish for over 2 hours.  We also caught a large crab and a sting ray.  I couldn’t have found a better captain.  We went home and whipped up the best Tacos ever!  We look forward to another day on the water with Roland when the weather is a bit warmer.  I bet he will have our cooler full - again!  Thank you.

I don’t think this could have been more perfect.  We met on time and two minutes later we were headed for fish.  Spent time casting and waiting and not much happened.  Repositioned the boat and within minutes, we had a bite.
My grandson started to feel it in and then my son took over.  It was a beautiful Tarpon which leapt out of the water twice during the “ fight” to bring him in.  The fish eventually tired and we got him to the side of the boat for pictures before letting him go.  Estimated 130 pounder!
Then we tried for some sharks- got multiple bites but the bites ate through the line and they took the bait and the hook.
Saw loggerhead turtle and shark fins as well as lots of dolphins.
Captain Bell is knowledgeable and personable and we all got along great.  I have more children and we will definitely connect with Captain Bell again when they are in town.

Capt. Roland took my wife and I to several spots. During our trip we ran into two crazy storms, found a jet skier stranded near the Dames, and witnessed a group being towed. It was an adventurous day on the water for sure, and we enjoyed our time out there. Caught a bunch of keeper weakfish and some blues. Captain Roland was very patient and friendly. He knows the spots to get you hooked!

My boys and I had a great day fishing with Captain Roland. He took us out to many different spots and we caught many different species of fish. He was an excellent guide and was wonderful with my boys. This was our 1st time doing a fishing charter trip and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for us. Thank you Captain Roland!
