Water was so flat, you wouldn’t know you were on the ocean.
Went on an afternoon half-day bottom fishing trip on 20 June 2025. Weather was good. A bit overcast to start the day, which was perfect.
Began with trolling west along the coast in hopes of getting a barracuda strike, or some other species.  Had a few on the Lowrance, but couldn’t entice them to bite.
Made it to where we turned out to sea to hit our bottom-fishing target spots. Got a bite as we dropped the first bait in the water. Lost it on the way up.
Hit a couple spots and got a few smaller Red Snapper in the cooler. Best fish of the day was a 3.7-kilo Red Snapper. Used some fresh squid for bait. 
Captain Pedro and First Mate John (sorry I can’t spell it correctly, João?) were great.  We learned a lot about fishing in this area, and also a lot of cultural/historical info about Madeira as we traveled along the coast.
The fish weren’t quite as interested in us as we were with them. Still, the crew did their best and we did manage to put a few in the cooler, including the afore mentioned Red Snapper. Had it been another day of the week, we’d have taken it to a local restaurant for dinner.
Great day overall. Sure beat working. Would definitely fish with them again.

After a short ride we came to the spot. After the lures find the way down we immediately got fish contact. And this kept on for the next few hours. Many fish in good size find they way into the boat and out. In total we catched 6 different species.
Captain and crew work hand in hand and make sure you stay satisfied the whole trip.
Perfect day on the water.

Had a great time on a shared fishing trip with Pedro. The big fish weren’t biting but we still got some nice Barracuda and other fish. The trip was good fun and we shared some beers and good conversation. A lot of interesting insight from Pedro on the fishing both in Madeira and surrounding areas which really showed the depth of his expertise.

My only regret was not taking the 7 hour trip in the end! Like I said…next time I’m in Madeira! Thanks for the fun trip :)

We had an amazing day out on the water with Pedro and Dino! Both of them were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. They knew exactly where to take us and helped us land two beautiful snappers. The trip was relaxed but exciting, and we felt well looked after from start to finish. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a great fishing experience!

We had an amazing day with amazing people on the boat! We got lucky with big fish and great weather. I would recommend this to anyone interested in fishing! Pedro and his crewmate are absolute legends! Loved it!!
