During our conversation on board you let me know this was your first time fishing for bluefin tuna. Due to that fact, it appears that you did not understand that light tackle is not used for giant bluefin tuna fishing. Light tackle is ineffective when targeting fish the size of that species. We did, however, use light tackle on the trip when fishing for striped bass.
We were prepared for your trip.The rods were rigged and ready for live bait when they were loaded on the boat the morning of the trip. In order to fish with live bait, the bait is kept in the live well until we are on the fishing grounds and ready to put the lines in the water.
We found the tuna early on in the trip but we were not able to get a bite on that school so in order to attempt to get a fish on we moved on to other locations to attempt to find a school that was feeding. Fish don’t remain in the same location for periods of time, so the search for fish is an ongoing part of tuna fishing.
It is disappointing that you did not enjoy your trip with us. We do our best to provide our customers with a positive fishing experience.
